The only question mark is SMU but they should get in over Bama - it would be absurd to punish SMU for losing to Clemson in a close conference title game and put in a 3 loss Bama team that lost to two 6-6 teams this season.

If it were any other school out wouldn't be

I just can't imagine a scenario where the committee is going to basically tell a school " you're better off not making your league title game than you are making it and losing by 3"

If they do that i think you'll see teams declining the invite to their conference title games starting next season

I mean the committee going to do what they do and likely put bama in but logic say it should be smu. If they wanted the easy way out drop smu without looking like complete idiots then probably shouldn’t have ranked them 8th. Had you ranked them 10th then dropping them out and keeping bama doesn’t look as bad. Dropping them out from 8th because they lose on a last second fg in their conference title game going to look very suspicious
