That is crazy. I hope the guaranteed money is in the first 2 years, I don’t think he plays out all 6 years.

Good for Von to get paid.

Wonder how much is guaranteed. I doubt that contract is that imposing on the Bills, but maybe.

We’re both having the same thought.

Wow. Crazy money! Well, Von Miller gets a chance for a 3rd ring with a 3rd team.

The road to the Super Bowl May include a Miller sighting. AFC looks tough.

The AFC is absolutely LOADED. I haven't seen this level of imbalance between the two conferences in a long time.

It was pretty cool today when Wilson was asked about playing in the AFC West and how tough that's going to be. His answer was perfect. (paraphrasing) "I want to win at the highest level. I wouldn't want it any other way."

Pretty much makes sense why Denver passed after seeing what kind of contract he wanted

He's about to be 33.....LOL.

The NFL is changing (see the L.A. Rams). Teams are willing to bet the farm and buy a Super Bowl. Miller will be a Bill for a couple of years and hopefully for them, help them get to the promised land. He won't be on the team beyond that. They'll restructure, trade him or more likely cut him loose. Starting to remind me a little of the "dream team" philosophy in the NBA.

This. I was rooting for the rams in the SB. Had a soft spot for them when I loved to St. Louis. Bills are another team I have wanted to see be successful for a while now. It will be easy to root for Von Miller and the Bills most of the time.

Unpopular, but, I'm relieved that we didn't opt for a trip down memory lane with a guy who is about 5 years past his prime ..I understand the love for Von Miller, but for some reason, I just don't find myself rooting for him, or even liking him at this point ...

If Bills fans are expecting to see the same guy who dictated SB 50, or even a hint at that, I think they're in for a Norwood size dose of reality

6 years ?? .. If Von is still playing in even in 2025 with the Bills, I'll eat my 1994 Geo Metro, part by part

The Broncos D exploded the first game after Von Miller was traded, it was the best they looked all season holding Little D to a goose egg into the 4th quarter

George Payton was the chess champ dealing him away knowing that 2nd and 3rd would be critical

Clearly something happened between Von and the team. Let’s hope we get the best that Gregory has to offer. Need to finally rack up some NFL miles on his odometer.

I don't know that anything happened between the Broncos and Von. I think Paton did a good job of seeing reality of Von and saw an opportunity to put the Broncos in a better position going forward, and he likely knew how last season was going to end at the trade deadline. I also think he likely saw that there was a need for different locker room leadership.

Von's new contract is not something the Broncos were going to match.

Perhaps I should have expanded on my thoughts. It appears there was a desire to change the leadership culture on the team. At this point, we’ve all heard about the Halloween party situation, or at least some of it.
How much of that controlled Paton’s decision making is difficult to know, but there seems to have been at least part of his calculus.

Fun with math:

Von Miller $20 million per year
Chandler Jones $17 million per year
Randy Gregory - $14 million per year

You probably uncovered what happened between Von and the Broncos, I'm sure some discussions about his future were had going into his last season as a Bronco, and if Von was looking for money in this ballpark, Paton started work on his plans to get value.

From nfl-com: Von Miller signs with Bills on 6-year, 120m deal; Buffalo also adds OJ Howard (3/16/22)

His contract is 17.5m the first four years with 51m in guarantees.

Always have liked him. He's my second favorite Bronco after Steve Atwater. Hope he has the same playoff success that he had in Denver and Los Angeles.

I believe I read Von Miller gets all the guaranteed money in the 1st two years, therefore it is really a 2 year $51 million dollar contract - with dead money extending out 3 more years.
