Holy shit! Nice deal. ICW is going to go nut's over this.

Best deal of the offseason. :frusty:

The Panthers offered him a better deal, though. He clearly wants a chance at the Cup, can't blame him. Hope he does well.

its a HUGE difference though.. the flyers could've added a 4 mil d-man or forward to last year's team and vokoun, and been done. no need to gut it.

dont get me wrong, i'm glad they gutted it.. but if they decided to gut it and sign vokoun, they could've probably had stamkos or richards without having to leave the depth barren.

homer messed up. simple as that.

Oh I agree with you but until we see how the season goes it will be hard to judge decisions now, but yes less money would have been great, but we don't know what happened with Vokun, maybe he told Homer no..

i'll cling to that. they were bryz all the way this year though.. but i know they've expressed interest in the past, maybe vokoun said he wouldn't play for the flyers so a trade never happened..

that will make me feel better..

Wow! Caps with a steal. I'm a big fan of Neuvy, Holtby, but they'll still get their time, and we certainly have more insurance now if someone gets hurt.

The forwards are tougher, the D is better, and the goalies got better/deeper.

Kudos to McPhee and staff. This team is going to be dangerous.

That's the benefit of being a contender. Players will take less money to win.

Just a shame this is happening in Washington

But who is to say Vokoun takes that kind of a discount to play for us, especially after our drastic changes?

No one could have seen this coming. So you are saying if we decided not to target Bryz, we wait for Vokoun, he decides to take a paycut to play for the caps. In the mean time Bryz gets snatched up. So now we are back to where we started, no goalie like always.

(though....we would have a ton of money to sign Stamkos hehe)

I hate the Caps as much as the next Pens fan...but I'd hold back my vomit if they won the Cup because of the Caps fans on this board. Fo' rizzle. That's a huge compliment. :)

It was just the vomting you mentioned before.

On topic... what NHL goalie has the best save percentage since the lockout? :)

Nice coup Caps org/fans. Vokoun is a good one; he was always scary on the Predly's. You guys should be really dangerous next year (then again, I think that every year about your team and mine.....and we're both always losers, lol).

Good news is that Vokoun is a great goalie who is underrated since he plays for under the radar teams. Bad news is that he isn't necessarily playoff proven which would be good for you folks.
