DarrenDreger: Players who have played 26 or more NHL regular season or playoff games will not have to wear a visor under grandfather agreement.

About damn time.

No big surprises here. Hopefully some eyes will be saved and some careers extended.

Hybrid icing will be tested in the preseason, possible reviews for 4 minute high sticking penalties, as well as potential stricter regulations on goaltender pads. Can't say I disagree with any of the big rumored changes.

I am in favor of Visors, provided they dump the stupid ass "Instigating with a visor" rule.

I like Hybrid icing. I'd prefer automatic icing.

Okay with reviews, provided it's at the ref's discretion, not a "coaches challenge". I want to see the refs go to tape to get the call right, not be told to go to the tape in an effort to kill momentum.

What I've heard about the goalie pads is the wrong way, tying it to the size of the goalie. Once again proving that they either don't know or don't care at all about goaltending.

I always knew it was the goal of the league to tinker with the size of the nets.

I mean if they had to do it, it's better that they're changing the depth as opposed to the height or width right?

I suppose to make more room behind the net, and therefore more scoring chances?

Thats my only thought? I hope they would do away with the Trapezoid.
And glad they didn't make the nets larger than 4 x 6.

Finally about time about the visors!

In regards to the trapezoid, with the exception of Marty and maybe 1 or 2 other guys that can cut off dump ins and play it like a defenseman, doesn't logic indicate that more scoring chances would occur with goaltenders leaving their crease and sloppily attempting to play the puck? I know anytime Moose would go out to try and play the puck my heart would stop.

The trapezoid was to break up the trap. With a goalie that could play the puck, it gave teams the ability to clog center ice forcing the other team to dump.

With the trapezoid, you'd better have fast D that will get to the puck first. Opened up center ice quite a bit.

Eliminating the center ice line helped a lot with breaking up the trap as well.
