UVA lands 5* lax/baseball/soccer/squash players, not 5* FB players

:L
Do you really want to go there?
According to Rivals, since 2002:
VT has landed 3 5 stars, one each in the following years:2002, 2005, 2007.
UVa has landed 5 5 stars, 3 in 2002, and one each in 2003 & 2005.

Man rivals sucked back then. Hardly any of the 5 star players that year became notable NFL players. Recruiting has become way more hardcore since then.

I agree with you, but it still doesn't change the fact that UVa has landed more 5 star players than VT has.

And as someone mentioned above, that still doesn't change the fact that Tech has done a heck of lot more since 2002 with their three 5-stars than UVA has done with their five 5-stars.

Since joining the ACC in 2004, Tech has won four ACC Championships: 2004, 2007, 2008, and 2010. Tech has also played in two other ACC Championship games: 2005 and 2011. Additionally, Tech has played in ten bowl games since 2002, to include five BCS bowls.

Meanwhile, UVA has not won, or played in, any ACC Championhship games since 2002. But, UVA has managed to play in six bowl games from 2002 through 2011, although none of them were BCS bowls.

Come on, jethro...let it drop.

Tyrod and Macho Harris both had great years @ VT, but Eugene Monroe and Ahmad Brooks were just as great at UVa.

tyrod and macho were part of championship teamS....the later 2 were not...so remind me just how that's "just as great"...

Michael Vick and Kevin Jones were not only regarded as 5 stars, but also the #1 recruits in the country. We also have 2, #1 overall draft picks.

Not sure the publication but I believe he and Jones were ranked pre-Rivals.

One player doesn't make a team, that's how.

Rolin is still blowing up 22 offers now after Oklahoma and Notre Dame offered tonight. Hopefully he comes for the spring game.

Also Mizzell may miss the print game due to a 7 on 7 tourney up at Pitt

Vick wasn't #1 nationally but KJ was on 2/3 publications and the other had him like #3. Vick was more or less considered a consensus top 50 player, a guy along the lines of LT or Ryan Williams or David Wilson.

Cornell Brown had a similar ranking when he was recruited, that's why it was so huge when Beamer landed him.

Vick wasn't the #1 guy in VA that year. IIRC he was ranked 3rd.
