if he doesnt come here i honestly wont put it on the coaches. How much "recruiting" do we really need to do? There is absolutely nothing we can "sell" Kendall, because he has to pretty much know all there is to know. IMO if he doesnt come here it wont be because we didnt recruit him well enough it will be because he wants to make a name for himself and not be "the youngest fuller bro". But i think he comes here so hopefully we wont have worry about it .

JMHO, but family connections and good relationships with the coaching staff can only take us so far with Kendall.

Other recruiters from programs like Alabama can tell him that he will be part of an NC team at least once while he attends that school. That's a very powerful draw for a kid who is being told that he's one of the best high school players in the country. We also found out how powerful a recruiting tool Saban can be when he visits a kid in his own high school.

Tech is on the edge of breaking into the inner circle of teams capable of winning the NC but we're not quite there. We're still missing some pieces that may fall into place over the next couple of years.

I don't worry about any of it. I just try to stay as objective as possible and enjoy the process.

Two points:

1) You just can't allow yourself get all wrapped up in what 16 to 18 year old kids are thinking. That's a train to Crazy Town.

...and...

2) You can't start blaming coaches for not recruiting hard enough if kids decide to go elsewhere.

What we really need is for Kendall to commit early. O'Daniel and Colbert already like us, and they'd be more likely to come if Kendall committed. An early commitment might also push any other corners that are considering us to commit, as we saw with Donaldven Manning last cycle. We might be able to wrap up our recruiting at CB and LB really early (if Holland Fisher also commits early.)

i should edit my post .. it won't be a failure .. just a disappointment .. knowing that even with the brief but impressive tradition at VT, the program's ability to put DBs into the NFL, and the prospect of following a family legacy and playing college football with 2 of your brothers for at least a year or two -- that all of that still isn't enough to sway such a great recruit from the traditional powers .. it wouldn't necessarily be a fail -- just a disappointment .. but trust me -- i won't lose any sleep over it. they say he's kinda high on clemson right now.

other than being in the middle of ridiculous talent (nc,sc,ga) -- how the hell does clemson recruit so well?? dabo the douche ??

Not trying to start any trouble with this question, but do you think there is any chance we offer an extra player from Good Counsel in order to get Fuller and O'Daniel? I know you guys will say that it's not worth it, but these guys are premier players and landing them would be big. With another class like the one we got this year, we could finally make that national championship push.

I think we already offered Stefon Colbert, WR at Good Counsel.

Oren Burks south county 6 4 195 Whip LB

NC State first to pull trigger on Oren Burks South County Whip LB and safety --made first team all district LB. He had a phenominal year, with several sacks, a couple pick six TDs and numerous physical tackles. a rising star following in the footsteps of the vandyke brothers. Probably leaning VT if they offer! he and Devin Vandyke led a highly rated stallion Defense to the state championship game. 6 ft 4 195 and built very much like VT safety Ronnie vandyke. Very lean muscular kid with plenty of room to fillout his frame.. BC, Michigan State and UVA also very interested

I feel that this could be the situation that is falling into our hands that will deliver us the national title we have been so yearning for. who would have thought....we recruit and/or sign 3 brothers, and then it just so happens that a 4th brother will come along and be one of the best players in the country, and his friends also are some of the best players in the country. this could be what we have been waiting for. please, please let this be the time when the good guy gets the win. this is our time. it has to work out. this was what the prophecy must have read.

He will get a VT offer, not sure what they are waiting for but I think he will leave Jr. Day with an offer (if he makes the trip)

I don't really think we should get in the habit of doing that^^^. Then we would be stooping to the level of some other programs. If the guy is good enough, then offer him, simple as that IMO. A package deal would be nice (if they are all worth it, and seems that may be). NOT like the Norfolk Christian situation <cough--Wahee--cough>. Another thing is that it is hard to say how close these guys are. It is probably unlikely that they have grown up together and played with each other the last 7-8 years and are all best buddies. GC is actually more of a "prep school" Pre-Grad..type situation like so many other of the national HS powers are (Don Bosco, Tampa Plant, to name a couple). These places bring players in from all around the region (You Salem-ites should know about that). I am sure most of you know this..not trying to insult anyone's intelligence.

You would think that there would be a draw in taking a team to the national championship that hasn't won it before. It's a bigger deal than climbing aboard the Alabama train.

I think when it comes to picking schools, most of the kids who are 4 and 5* players care a lot less about a National Championship than you think, and a lot more about where will get them into the Leauge.
