sidebar, why do schools like miami and fsu consistently still bring in insane classes? they play in the ACC and consistently do worse than us.

I'm guessing they like the warm weather. Jimbo Fisher is the worst coach in the country so they can't be attracted by the potential to become better.

One thing I have noticed is that Texas always finishes with good classes, but they have been crap lately. There was this article on ESPN where they theorized that since Texas high school football is so intense, players from there sometimes reach their peaks in high school.

Speaking of crappy finishes, Dan Le Batard pointed out today how recruiting classes are just a bunch of hype. The Miami senior class that finished 6-6 this year was the #1 recruiting class coming out of HS. So yeah. I don't get too butthurt over FSU and Miami constantly pulling in great classes. There's only one school that is either the champion or playing for the championship nearly every year in the ACC and its located in Blacksburg.

my point is that top talent from all over the country keeps going to fsu/miami when they havent been powers in 5 years at least. im not talking about a random top 250 player here and there like uva, im talking 5 star guys year in year out.
