On another note, how does everyone think offers shake out when (if) the boat fills up?

If Cyrus (by some miracle) calls, does Stanford lose his offer? Deloatch? Are those two an either/or scenario regardless if Caleb commits first? Who greyshirts, if anyone?

I find it hard to believe there are 5 or 6 legitimate empty spots.

Also, if we have more attrition before or just after Spring ball, that will also open up additional slots for 2012. There may be 2-3 that may be looking for playing time somewhere else.

For what it's worth, Benedict has great press about him at VT and he was killing it in practice. I'll be very surprised, after what I heard, if he's not starting this September and for the following 2 years. It sounds like he was, at worst, the 3rd best OL in Blacksburg and he might have been better than Brooks.

Just went by Clover Hill HS about a half hour ago, (I am in Chester for a couple days on business)....maybe I will swing by there tomorrow around lunch time, wearing all of my VT garb, and try to get in Caleb's ear...Hell, maybe I will go see DJ Reid too (5 minutes down the road) to make sure his VT allegiance is strong..

..Or maybe I will get chased off or arrested like a psycho super-effin crazy ex-girlfriend. But at least I would make a good impression..Right?

Saw Frank Beamer power walking around the drillfied before my flag football practice. After that, I saw JC Coleman and Manning while I was walking back to my car. What a way to start the semester. Can't help but be excited for those two guys!!

Since our offer, Josh Stanford has skyrocketed up ESPN's rankings. If committed, he would be our highest-rated pre-Caleb WR in the 2012 class. In fact, he would be tied for highest-ranked commit with Manning, Harris, VanDyke, Coleman, and Blue.

I'm not usually a fan of ESPN's numbers, but their scouting reports are decent.

Rivals is releasing their final 2012 rankings this week. They released their new 5 stars yesterday. Today they release the now Rivals100 (JC was at 102 in last rankings) and tomorrow they release the new Rivals250 and other 4 stars. It will be interesting to see where our current guys end up. Edmunds and Clarke are currently in the 250 and Harris and Manning are just outside. Jones, DVD, Tookes, Blue and Mangus all have legitimate shots for a fourth star, IMO.
