Just saw the news and Vin Scully has passed away - greatest broadcaster ever - Chick Hearns for the Lakers was right there next to him. Los Angeles was fortunate to have two of the greatest broadcasters of all time. My condolences and prayers to the family - A legend has left the building
Legendary voice of the Dodgers for more than half a century going back to their last years in Brooklyn and then out to LA up until 2016. Great announcer. Smooth, friendly and knowledgable.
Used to listen to him when I lived in SoCal in the late 70's and early 80's on KTTV Ch.5 and KABC radio w/ Jerry Doggett & Ross Porter. ("brought to you by Farmer John")
He's seen it all.
Truly one of a kind.
They don't make them like that anymore.
Another icon of my youth is gone.
No one could tell who he cheered for, although he was a die-hard Dodger fan when he worked for them. No one could bring fans into the spirit of the game as well as he could.
Rest in Peace, Sir. Condolences to family and friends.
