IM gonig to call BUllshit, because to offer him a deal at present would be tampering and in this case would cost them a 1st rounder because I guarantee Bruce would file a tampering charge

They might be considering making him this offer, but no offer has been made.

I can see this happening to eliminate the Jets and Broncos from the equation. The first fully guaranteed contract in the NFL. This is what KC wants and he will probably get it.

I agree. I'm sure KC's people have an idea of what teams are willing to offer at this point, but no offers have been made.

And then there is this strange claim in the article: "Now, if Cousins signs this contract, he wouldn’t become the highest paid player in NFL history like many expect him to be."---no one measures "highest paid player" by the contract's total value b/c we know few players ever receive that much. It's measured by yearly average salary, and by signing that deal, Cousins would be making more than 30M/year, the highest any player has ever been paid in NFL history.

Good point.

Right. Kc should be doing back flips if he gets this offer. Plus he will be a FA again at the age of 34 maybe another payday.

$10 million too much per year, guaranteed, for a qb who won't be much better statistically then what Case Keenum gave the Vikes - at a fraction of the cost.

Terrible move for the Vikes.

Florio also reported that the KC camp has “stated” that they are still open to all teams.

Slang for... “We would be happy to sign a 3 year $100 million with someone else”.

For what it's worth:

He is a Cards beat reporter. But I would be surprised if they offered that amount.

Some NFLN dude, a reporter who works the Minny beat I believe, said he talked to his peeps in the know at Minny and the story is boo boo. Then again, there are quite a few coaches, trainers etc in the NFL that would probably make Trump and Hillary look like shoot from the hip truth-tellers of the highest order.

There are ways for teams to leak info and never talk to the player or his agent. It has been going on for years. The guy that reported it is a local Minnesota NFL guy from what I just heard Ross Tucker say. All you need is for someone from the Minnesota organization tell him "we are thinking seriously about offering Cousin's XX." The local guy reports it and there is no tampering involved.

There are plenty of instances where the agent/player’s camp leaks information, whether it be true or false, to create a market, possibly even a bit of a bidding war for their player. Not saying this is going on, but do not discount the possibility that KCs agent is playing the game a bit as well.
