According to Jeremy Fowler of TwinCities.com, Minnesota Vikings general manager Rick Spielman has expressed the desire to trade the third overall pick in order to move down and acquire additional draft picks.
The big problem for the Vikings is that the hottest draft pick on the market is the second overall pick, which the Rams currently hold. With that being said, we’re not sure how motivated teams will be to move up to the third pick.
If the Vikings end up staying where they are, they’ll likely draft former USC left tackle Matt Kalil.
If a Kalil is there I think they would be foolish not to grab him. Barring injury, they wouldn't have to worry about left tackle for 15 stiniking years.
Not sure even the Vikings would pass on that...I'm hoping anyway.
Lots of talk about the Rams trading. I think the Redskins will make a big push for Griffin.
So that would leave special K. for us. I've already given him my nickname.
The Vikings would be able to play in the Metrodome for all but one season while the new stadium, modeled after Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, is being built nearby. During the final stages of construction, Vikings games would relocate to the University of Minnesota’s TCF Bank Stadium.
I thought I heard that on K-Fan today, but I was in the middle of a pour so I couldn't listen closely.
On the way home I listened, and yeah it sounds like they got a few more votes to get. But it's close boy...Get this shit done!!
The NFL announced Friday the New Orleans Saints face punishment for implementing an illegal bounty system to pay players for inflicting injuries on opponents. "The players regularly contributed cash into a pool and received improper cash payments of two kinds from the pool based on their play in the previous week's game."
The release from the NFL said defensive coordinator Gregg Williams administered the program with the knowledge of other defensive coaches and funds were contributed by Williams on occasion.
