Shakopee will submit plans for a 75,000 seat stadium on 120 acres, with room for 22,000 tailgaters..925 million.
This might just be the spot. Don't know all the details yet, but it's the cheapest so far.

SHAKOPEE, Minn. - There may be a late entrant in the Vikings stadium derby.

The new mayor of Shakopee has announced that he will submit a plan to Governor Mark Dayton Wednesday afternoon to build a new football stadium in his city.

Brad Tabke has been Mayor of Shakopee for just one week, but he is dedicated to improving the community's business climate. He feels that becoming the new home of the Vikings would be a huge step in that direction.

In a press release sent out Tuesday by SavetheVikes.org, Tabke talked about making his city a "entertainment destination" of the Midwest.

"Shakopee hosts six million visitors each year at ValleyFair, Canterbury Park, the Renaissance Festival and many other attractions," says Tabke." We are excited to introduce our plan for adding the Minnesota Viking to the list of great reasons to visit Shakopee."

"The Vikings clearly want a site with options, and the Shakopee site provides that," explains Tabke. "There is room for a 75,000 seat stadium and 22,000 tailgaters. Land is also available next to the proposed site that has lake access, park access and more."

The proposed stadium site would be a 130-acre parcel between Highways 101 and 169 that has existing infrastructure, several routes in and out of the city, and no environmental cleanup needed.

Shakopee native and SavetheVikes.org Founder Cory Merrifield was brought on board to help with the plan, and two area legislators who have been active in seeking a Vikings stadium solution also have voiced support for the proposal.

"We're looking for solutions," said state senator Claire Robling (R-Jordan). "This is a good solution for a site and using Racino as a local funding source makes sense. People should take a serious look at this." State Rep. Mike Beard (R-Shakopee) has also voiced support, according to those behind the stadium plan.

The Shakopee stadium team will hold a 4 p.m. press conference in the State Office Building on Wednesday to share details of the plan.

At this point the Vikings organization has not commented on the Shakopee plan. The team has been vocal in its preference for the stadium site in Arden Hills.

Among the plan's key points, according to Shakopee stadium plan organizers

From TMZ...ha!

The LAPD is on the hunt for a cyber-douchebag who threatened to attack the people at FoxSports.com ... all because they blocked the idiot from posting on their message board.

The drama began on November 1, 2011 ... when Fox Sports banned a user who posted an "inappropriate comment" on a FoxSports.com team page.

According to official police documents, Fox Sports later received a threatening message which the user sent to the "report abuse" tab ... which read, "All you moderators are c**ksuckers and one day you are going to get your faces caved in to your brain."

The message continued, "You think just because you do this over the Internet you cannot be located. You are wrong .... Watch your ass you f**king b*tches. I am coming for you ..."

FoxSports.com security officials told police they were "extremely concerned for the safety" of the staff ... and insisted they are "not taking this threat lightly."

Now, detectives from the LAPD Threat Management Unit are on the case .. hoping to track down the suspect.

A rep for FoxSports.com had no comment on the situation.
