I actually have high hopes for Huerman and think Virgil is going to keep improving. Doubt VD is a Broncos next yr but if we do keep him and Daniel's next yr we would be in great shape at Te IMO anyway. I hope they go heavy on O line. Not that I don't think the current guys can be very good still but sure would be nice to get some young guys that can have chance to develop before thrown to the wolves. Guess it depends on which positions suffer the most in the cap battle that is sure to rear its ugly head next yr.

I like Huerman I predicted we would draft him in our draft contest . He fits Kubiak system . Still I hope we dig deep in the pile of TE's and do find a J Thomas type and start to Develop him .

Interesting post. I don't know how good a blocker Huerman is, but if he's not significantly better than Thomas was, I have to question whether he is a good fit for Kubiak's system.

His Blocking is why Ohio let him play all season hurt and not catching but half the passes he caught the year before . He is a solid TE . Charles Davis Said all though the Draft Huerman was the perfect Kubiak TE I agree with this ..

Yeah have to agree with 58Crash in he was actually known more for blocking than receiving. Ohio State Heuerman's final year had a terrible OL. So Urban Meyer decided to keep Heuerman in to block more than go out in a route because of how great he was at that aspect of the game. Throw in him being hurt did limit him a bit as a receiving option. I think if he can stay healthy he will end up being a great weapon for us. I'm starting to question his ability to stay healthy though with 2 straight years of foot injuries. Not good for a TE to have foot issues.

I honestly would not be surprised if Vernon Davis does decent for us that the Broncos work to bring him back. I don't think he will cost a ton considering his age and I do think he fits Kubiak's system as well of being a decent blocker and one that can go out and run the whole route tree. I mean when you look at his speed he is still the fastest TE in the NFL even with losing a step. So he still has plenty to give in this league. Throw in Brandon Marshall was asked about Vernon Davis and instead of commenting on his speed said that Vernon was the best route running TE he has ever gone up against. That fits what Manning loves to do and I would bet whoever our next QB is would love to have that kind of speed at the TE position.

One interesting stat about Vernon Davis is that he is the only TE in NFL history with multiple seasons of 13 or more touchdowns.

I enjoyed it as well. They said that around the facility on Tuesday he was like a kid in a candy store just all smiles that he is in Denver getting to play with Peyton. He just kept taking pictures everywhere and with different people. I think we are going to see some of the old Vernon Davis that really made defenses take notice.
