Anyone wanna make some guesses about who from their team will be selected?

If Fleury does not get taken, Mrazek might be the most appealing Wing. I don't see them taking both...too much money tied up in goalies in that scenario and it would be difficult to flip either.

If they don't take Mrazek, then the most sensible picks would be Ouellet (D) or Sheahan (F) if they want a roster player or Sproul (D) or Nosek (F) if they want a prospect player.

Of all Wings exposed, I'd want to keep Ouellet the most. The Wings are excessively thin on NHL talent in their D corps and Ouellet did a solid job in his own zone last year. Of the seven defensemen who played more than 30 games for the Wings last year, Ouellet is the only one who had a positive +/-. I'm disappointed that Holland protected Green over Ouellet.

Yeah, I'm sure that's why he kept Green... probably hoping to flip him. Still, I'm not a fan of giving up Ouellet for nothing; Ouellet has/had a future with the Wings; Green likely does not.

The perception on DeKeyser is that he just had a down year and will bounce back to a top-4 guy this year. He had been the best defenseman on the team the two years prior. I would tend to agree with that perception and certainly hope he bounces back. Honestly, I think he tried to do too much himself last year. I don't think it's a matter of talent or competency as it is just playing your game.

I mean, maybe GMGM would've taken DeKeyser but that contract is, kindly, not good. Sure the Wings would've been fine.

But it is what it is. Given where Detroit's at right now losing a periphery 4D isn't cataclysmic.

If it's any other GM, I say the Jackets lose Anderson or Karlsson as both are young, versatile forwards.

But GM GM is the guy who traded Filip Forsberg for Martin Erat. On purpose.

hey, at least on the Brightside, your team has the problem of having so much talent the issue is who to protect vs. having the problem of so little the team is saying, "hey do even have 8 guys worth it" (AKA Jersey...sorry @Nasty_Magician )

yeah I agree...but with Hagelin at least I figure age comes in to it...and I think the team is banking on it's MAF that gets claimed anyway
