3 years after being named head coach, former Gator Legend Kerwin Bell led Valdosta State to a national title over Ferris State 49-47. Valdosta State led the nation in scoring averaging over 52 points per game.

Isn't this a bit overdone?

VSU has always been a Div II Power. That wasn't their first title,
it was their fourth title.

It is in a recruiting hotbed. Now, I'm not speaking of 4 and 5-star
players, but rather the players with talent that don't have the
measureables that the big boys look for...height, weight, etc, etc.

You could take all the 6-footers from just Valdosta High School and
Lowndes County and be in the Top 15 yearly. Their speed is unchallenged. The football savvy is A-One. Coaches aren't judged
by how many titles they win at Valdosta, they are judged by not
making the top 15 in Div II. Winning at Valdosta is expected and
losing ain't tolerated.

He was a journeyman. Not great, but not bad. Anybody who makes an NFL roster is a damn good player though. Those roster spots don't come easy.
