The truth is until CU actually turns their pigskin program around only the fair weather fans will show up @ games. Between all the outdoor activities here (hiking, camping ect.) there's too much to do rather than waste 3+ hours @ Folsom Field just to watch the Buffs loose again.
Yep. I get it.
It was really more of a shot at the lack of fans at the hoop than the entirety of the fan base.
Losing a lot gets old. We understand. UW has been in perpetual rebuild mode for over a decade. But we still SportsHoopla!
I can tell you this, if they lose it won't be people going after Smith anymore. They will start planting the blame right on Petersen.
Of course they could just go out and score 30 today with some balance and show some progress and avoid all that messy bullshit.
lol... some people are calling this one the 'weed bowl'
As an offensive minded head coach he surely is involved in the game planning and player evaluations. There is zero chance he isn't making decisions and having input. For a week or so...
I'm not ready to start blaming Petersen. I think a lot of us were hoping he would come in and just pick up where Sark left off, but that's not really reasonable. This hasn't been a smooth transition, and that's okay as long as it ends up being for good reason. Only time will tell if it will be.
Of course all the blame can't be put on one guy (Smith). But I think it's a little ridiculous to suggest that Smith's deficiencies should be put on Petersen. He seems like the type who probably has everyone's responsibilities clearly defined. And if that's the case I don't think saying "I'm taking over because you're sucking" is the tone he wants to set.
The offense will get better (if for no other reason than it can't go any other way). I still have little doubt that Petersen's the guy we want, and he'll get the program back to where we know it should be. Give him time. If the offense doesn't greatly improve in the following weeks and Smith is still employed as the OC next year, then we have some issues...

Smith should be held accountable, but Petersen isn't without his blame as well. As HC he can't piss away an entire season and simply pass it off as someone else's problem. That's not how leadership works.
They made their plays when they needed to and beat a team they should.
Defense came alive in the second half and the only question is why were they so flat in the first half?
Not one touch by John Ross. NOT ONE
The botched snaps and dumb turnovers didn't kill them today, but next week with UCLA at home? Can't have that shit.
6th win, nice, now UCLA I'm not a fan of Mora and his mouth, I really want to see them come out and pound the crap out of UCLA.....
Would love to see us get a signature W of the season. A win against UCLA would be a nice step forward.
