Interesting to see that Trojans Wire called the USC defensive performance "a mess". They did get run on and the D Line didn't get much pressure in the first half but I thought they played pretty well.

I don't know that I'd call it a mess. But it does remain a bit of a question mark. They were vulnerable to the run early in the game and it's a young defense learning a new scheme. We probably won't know how good this defense will be for at least another few weeks.

They also need to find a way to put more consistent pressure on the qb. They need a "Big Cat" Williams type d-lineman that the offense has to try to gameplan for. Hopefully, Foreman and/or Tui can develop into being that guy.

They have the tip drill down on defense though. I think every one of those 4 picks had been tipped by another defender.

Yes, they have that part down. Playing Stanford will show us something because that team is well-coached and always prepared. They won't make a lot of mistakes or beat themselves.
