Great coaching. They finally got a group of professionals on the staff. Caleb Williams is the real deal, Completed 19 of 22 for 250. Three pick sixes on defense. Two big defensive transfers from Alabama who got pick sixes today. They even got the Billitnikopf Award winner from Pitt last year, Jordan Addison. And most importantly not a single dead ball foul for personal fouls. No stupid penalties.

Yep. I knew that since it was a team like Rice, USC could beat them if Helton was still the coach.

So, I was looking at other things, like the stupid drive killing penalties on offense and drive sustaining penalties by the defense. the only thing close to one of those that I remember was the targeting call on Romello Height and that was pretty questionable.

Even with the turnovers, I'm not convinced on the defense just yet as they were vulnerable to the run early in the game. They got better as the game went on, but that might have been because Rice had to start passing more because they were falling behind.

I'm anxious to see how the defense does next week against Stanford who will likely have a strong running game.

I saw your loaded team fall behind 17-7 to Bowling Green. DTR still looks inconsistent as well.

But they did get shit figured out and scoring 38 unanswered points was pretty impressive.

USC was tied with Rice after the 1st quarter. But, they ended up winning in a route.

No, but they are a legit P5 team and a bit of a rival. So USC should expect more resistance than we got from Rice. I'm looking forward to seeing how we handle their running game.

From what I saw of our offense yesterday, keeping our offense off the field will be a big point of emphasis from other teams...being able to run the ball is a big part of that. So the defense is going to have to show they can stop it.
