US patent office cancels Redskins trademark registration

I wrote this for another responder here, it applies to you as well...........


It is interesting that you seem to enjoy injecting "PC" as if by doing so you make a point and worse point to the hypocrisy of others. Your own selective use of PC terms, the one that you like/are comfortable with vs. the ones that you don't or are not comfortable with, renders whatever your point or other's hypocrisy moot.

and again rarely or not the fact is you did go to and support a team that you say has a a racist name

i didnt inject reagon or anyone else into this discussion

i brought up the point the robert e lee didnt support slavery but he couldnt fight against his home state so he in effect supported an abomination all in the cause of supporting the locals right or wrong

j-y , they dont have answer to it . it is a bunch of people being politically correct and trying to force their guilt on everyone else

the native americans had a bad time . but so did other peoples who went the way of the dough dough bird society is very much like a child growing up . it goes through stages . people act like certain native american tribes didnt take land , property , or make slaves of their neighbors and believe me if they had of won would they be so caring ?

the past is the past . my ancestors did what they did but why am i held accountable for their actions ? i am accountable for no ones actions but my own and the values i instill in my children

the head of the onieda tribe's , own football team on his own reservation is named redskins and i am supposed take that crap seriously? clean up your own yard before you get to mine

as for stymie , i believe he needs to examine his life and what he is doing . its obvious he watches the skins on TV and willingly gives up his entertainment dollar via the TV and supports a cause that he says is in conflict with his moral values . i say put your money where your mouth is and be active in your fight against this so called injustice and stop supporting the team whose name you cant utter in your house

then i might be more sympathetic to your debate and that of others who have taken pay checks to play , or cover the team or whose name you got an education and ended up in the senate. its one thing to be on record against the name from the get go and publicly say you are against it WHILE you are earning the benefits but dont stay silent like a coward for all these years and then when you are supposedly free and clear then you want to cry foul

As for supporting a team that I found had a significant offensive trait to it, I don't see how anyone could do it. I liken it to a guy from the south flying a southern flag over his house or taped to the window of his pickup. His claim, of course, is that the flag only represents his heritage to him, not the negative other stuff that goes along with it. Wonder if the Stymiees of the world would accept his justification or call BS on him?

The bottom line is his support of the stars and bars is a tacit support of all that goes with that symbol. Just as Stymiees support of the Redskins is a tacit support of all that goes with that team.

i noticed when i brought up robert e lee he brings up reagan as if that has anything to do with the point which is if you find something distasteful simply stop supporting it reagan being a domestic terrorist (laughable ) has nothing to do with it

he doesnt get that either you stand against a wrong or you dont . supporting the team even if you find the name racist means the racism doesnt bother you much
