I've enjoyed the Citi coverage on Tennis Channel today.

Fun seeing youngsters like Pospisil and Sock play in the early rounds. Helps me figure out what they've improved over the past couple of months. Pospisil is solid all the way around. I like his game better than Raonic's. And Sock is turning that backhand from a weakness to a neutral shot...or maybe even a strength.

Can't wait to see if the young kids can make a dent at the Open in September.

The first time I read this sentence, I thought Gilbert Arenas had tweeted about the Citi Open. Lol.

Interesting with the upsets. Also, Cilic barely survives Querry.

Kozlov and Tiafoe will play in the Kalamazoo Finals for the Main Draw US Open Wildcard. Tiafoe has gone through the last two Junior Slam winners (Opelka and Paul) without losing a set. Kozlov took down Taylor Fritz, the worlds #1 ranked junior player.

I think Tiafoe has to be considered the favorite, and this will likely be the last time he needs a wild card for the US Open. All signs point to him being ranked in the top 100 within a year, and he should stay there for a long time.

Kei through to the finals after beating Cilic in rematch of 2014 US Openfinals.

Isneris up a set on Johnson but on serve in the 2nd. Really good tourney for the American Men but the big test for them (in terms of US Open Dress Rehearsal) comes the next 2 weeks in Canada and Cincy

Very tough match for Isner. I thought he played well, and hope he can maybe make the round of 16 or even a quarter at the Open.

Not a big Sloane Stephens fan, but nice to see her win her first title.

Isner comes up short against Kei. Tough one.

Kei was winning 91% of his 1st serve points. Isner wasn't making a dent in Nishikori's service games, other than the break in the 1st set.

Isner seems to affirm during many post-match interviews, how the work he's putting in with Justin is starting to pay off, or is paying off. I'm not sure if he's repeating it because he really believes it, or because he's being diplomatic and doesn't want to expose his doubts about the coaching during a public interview.

I don't really see much difference in Isner's game right now. Not saying that a different coach could find areas to improve, and be able to implement them. Perhaps he's already playing the best he can. I'm just saying I don't notice a difference.

On a side note, is there a profound difference between how FED played under Annacone, and now under Edberg? I wish there were stats like average net points per set, or per game, or something. Maybe average rally length. Or, maybe the changes are a little harder to measure, like placement of serves. Or what kind of return FED hits.

I missed the SFs, would have wanted to see Nishikori vs. Cilic.

I was rooting for a Cilic vs. Isner Finals, but the Finals turned out pretty good the way they were.

Overall:

Nishikori is the best in ATP history in deciding sets, 79%. Borg is 2nd.

During the Citi Open Finals:

* A fan was looking down at his mobile device.

A John Isner serve hit him in the face (after it bounced from the court to the stands), right in the sunglasses, and they got knocked off.

* Isner is a 3 time Finalist here (2007 to Roddick; 2013 to Del Potro; 2015).

This is a 500 level event (champion gets 500 points). This would have been Isner's biggest win.

He has 10 titles, but all of them are at the 250 level, and most top players don't play in those.

Tsonga vs Coric coming up.

Could be a lot of fun. Hope to see Coric play well and at least take it to a 3rd set. The kid is super talented.
