US Open Series Thread

US Open Series start this week in Atlanta. As you guys know the 2 big events in preparation for the Open is the tourneys in Montreal/Toronto & Cincinnati but here is the schedule of events leading up to the Open.

7/27-8/2- Atlanta
8/3-8/9- Washington DC
8/10-8/16- Montreal
8/16-8/23- Cincinnati
8/23-8/29- Winston Salem

As always the Atlanta field is pretty weak. We will see a much better field for the DC tournament but Isner and Pospisil are the top 2 seeds. Only reason to watch this tournament IMO is to see Mardy Fish play in one of his final 3 tournaments of his career

I love the Atlanta Finals when Fish or Isner are in it.

What are the other two tourneys Fish will play in?

I don't watch too much of these tourneys, except for the SF/Finals.

I know the Bank Of The West one is in August this year, instead of the end of July. Probably due to the summer hard court season being pushed back by a week.

It is basically the same schedule with the only difference is that New Haven is played the same time as the DC tournament so while the men only have one tourney going the week of 8/3-8/9 the women will have 2. Also their last tournament is in New Haven while the men is down south.

Nice. Can you post the schedule of when the doubles with Roddick will be, when it becomes available? I mean when on a given day those matches will be (time / court).

You mean the Bank Of The West @ Stanford is at the same time as the WTA DC Tourney, right?

Right now they're in the 1st match.

ESPN 3 may have the evening match. It just says "two matches".

Fish says he and Roddick tried to play last year, but couldn't. They then decided they'd play a a tourney they both liked, which was Atlanta.

Atlanta is not too bad. There are some decent players there. My boy Jared goes out in a hour. Hope he plays better than his last match.

Federer already pulled out of Montreal which is one of the 2 biggest tuneup events before the Open. That is pretty disappointing to say the least.

Not a great day, but I guess it could have been worse as Muller is a quality opponent. At barely 18 he still has a little time to get there. Taylor Dent has some work to do though. Not sure Jared will make the US open now. He is barely ranked in the top 150 and this loss will not help. He might need to play quallies.

The rest of the Americans did not do well either. Sock and Johnson today.
