Urbom on Waivers

Something had to give today so a waived player could clear by noon tomorrow allowing Patrik to play tomorrow night. Urbom is the choice. Teds will still stay on the NonRoster Injured List or whatever for now it seems.

So he's available to other teams at this point? I know there is always the chance he can get claimed but I know a lot of GMs see it as a dick move, much like offer sheeting RFAs and it's kind of a what goes around comes around mentality. So fingers crossed that he clears.

The good thing is I believe that re-entry waivers were eliminated in the last CBA, so teams have to claim him now, otherwise we can bring him back up at any point during the season without issue.

He didn't get claimed on waivers. It was re-entry waivers where they got him for half the cost. He did clear when he was in the same situation Urbom was in.

Personally, I'd rather have lost a guy like Gionta to waivers than Urbom. Pretty upset about this.

Again I am absolutely in favor of keeping Harrold as the 7th D, you dont want a kid in that role and he is versatile and cheap. My issue is in re-signing Zid (of course I'll change my mind if he has a great season...but I doubt it).

Even if Zid was gome I would have seen Gelinas stay in his place as a true offensive D man and risked losing Urbim anyway,,,but that's purely my view.
