Since he specified “NFL coach,” not head coach, I’d give Jackson a little leeway. He had a few decent seasons as a coordinator. As a head coach, yeah they’re both equally terrible.

So you're gonna give Hue Jackson, who by the numbers is the worst HC in NFL history with one team, some leeway? Now that's funny. But agreed both were lousy NFL coaches.

Honestly D.

As much as I hate to admit believe, and if you don't believe me go to every college coach firing in the past year or so in the college football thread, I saw the writing on the wall in week ? when it came out he was partying and smack a girls ass.

I would have liked to see if he could have turned us around but I'm not a huge conterversey guy

I will still remember the Stadium Stampede cameo....

Outside all the crap and controversy he has had. We all have to admit a cameo in an AEW brawl with Chris Jericho is coach of the year material! :suds:

Honestly for Head Coaches....

I'd prefer a Defensive guy more than Offense

Vance Joesph, Raheem Morris, Keith Butler, Dan Quinn, Todd bowels

Let's try to get the defense to 2017 standards

Hue Jackson (3-36-1) says hello. Meyer's one of the worst NFL coaches of all time. But still not as bad as Jackson.
Jackson was terrible, but you can't just go by his Browns record. He had a stint with the Raiders and went 8-8, bringing his overall record to 11-44-1. That's a .205 winning percentage, which beats Meyer's 2-11 .154 winning percentage.

Go call. I forgot he coached the Raiders.

On the whole Jackson vs Meyer thing. Lets not conflate anything both were bad, very bad.

Looking at the QB's:

Meyer - Trevor Lawrence
Jackson (Cleveland only)- Kiser, RGIII, McCown, Kessler and was fired with Mayfield. Might add they went 5-3 after Jackson was fired.
His time at the Raiders was Carson Palmer and Jason Campbell and essentially kept a meh team as a meh team with experienced QB's.

Jackson didn't have a bastion of good QB's to work with. And you could argue Meyer could have done much more with perceived talent at that position.

And with Urban Meyer fired after only two wins. Somewhere Bobby Petrino is celebrating that a drunk college coach did worse than him in the NFL.

You guys are averaging less than 14 points a game. You have to go back 9+ seasons to find offenses as bad as the current Jags and Texans offenses. Heck you guys are averaging less than 9 points a game for the past 7 weeks.

Todd Bowles would be a good hire for most but you guys need an offensive guy.

Understandable but I want back to where we were in 2017.

A team that has a feared defense

You hire a defensive guy and you'll get the Sam Bradford, Steve Spagnuolo/Jeff Fisher Rams.

Jags are in a fairly similar spot to the STL Rams best I can tell. They both spent a decade setting their first round picks on fire. Rams got Aaron Donald, eventually hired a top offensive mind, and then just mostly avoided the draft and just brought in all of the players they could using their draft capital instead of trying to evaluate college talent. Now they're one of the top teams.

Maybe.

If it's Offense. I want a QB guy to work with Trevor
