Peters was the clear number one target.

That is not the case with the HC search. Said Ben would be considered a top candidate for a number of teams but that doesn't mean he is the only top candidate for the Skins.

"Don't assume he's going to come here." "Have to let the process play out." Said Ben may find another place where he will have more power than in Washington.

Skins feel there is good depth in the HC group. Peters may want to add people to the interview list.

Did mention that Chris Speilman's brother works for Lions and Peters and Slowik have connections in SF.

Skins aren't so concerned with offensive or defensive coach. Skins looking for a HC that is going to be a leader.

Keim said if the coice is QB at 2, than it obviously makes more sense to hire an offensive HC. That said if they don't feel that the offensive HCs that they interview are leaders, they may move to one of the defensive guys. Said Skins #1 criteria is to find a "leader."

Harris wants one vision. Said they may pass on a candidate that they feel is better for a candidate that is just a notch down but is aligned with the GM. Harris wants the GM and coach to be on the same page.

Said it's hard not to like what Ben Johnson has done calling plays over the last two years. Praised Slowik for his use of misdirection and working with a rookie QB who was also the #2 pick in the draft. Keim pondered if Slowik was ready or if he needed another year.

Said he likes the way MacDonald can change and adapt his defense to fit his players. Mentioned not to judge Quinn and other coaches based off of one playoffs game. "Have to look at the body of work."

Virtual interviews will take place Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Magic Johnson will not be making decisions but will be leaned on to help identify leadership qualities. (paraphrasing)

Keim's not sure if Mayhew will be let go or if his role will just change.

On a side note I heard JP talk about how toward the end of the season Ron in a round about way was trying to make it seem like Mayhew had all this power. Kinda throwing him under the bus. Said anyone who has been in Ashburn knows Ron and Hurney were making all the decisions.

Keim says a lot without saying a lot. Just have to read between the lines. What I took from this is he only mentioned four coaches by name. (Johnson, Slowik, MacDonald, and Quinn)

Losts of Johnson and Slowik talk. A little praise for MacDonald and one mention of Quinn. Having listened to Keim over the years, I'd be willing to bet that's the pecking order.

Excellent point.

While i wasn't carried away with EB saving the organization like some were, I was excited for him to get here.

I even thought he might be the head coach in waiting for the first 2 weeks.

I was completely wrong on both accounts...but you stuck to your gut and knew he wad a fraud.

I think word is getting out that:

He doesn't play well with others
He isn't an effective playcaller
He is stubborn

I think he might be out of the nfl unless he takes a demotion to a position coach.
I am shocked he hasn't gone to like a D II school to be the HC. I haven't even heard of D I schools pursuing him.

We might have torpedoed his career.

EB should never have left. It was a mistake for both Rivera and EB.
