I dont think i would do it... But again, i am not that high on Garcon... and i see hopkins being one of the top sleeper picks this season... Not to mention, who trusts lamar miller???

I'm higher on Terrence Williams and I have him too lol

so I was just offered Pierre Garcon and a 7th round pick(#83) for DeAndre Hopkins and Knowson Moreno.

This would give me Nelson, Garcon, Cruz, Patterson and Williams at WR.

fairly certain im jumping on this offer. Any thoughts?

I am thinking with that 7th rounder I would jump on it too... Not sure why he is giving you that!!!

Well, I think the 7th round pick and Hopkins are a push because I think he could be drafted that late, so the real question is do you want to trade Garcon for Moreno straight up? I personally would rather keep the depth at running back, but to each his own.

I also have Blackmon but at this point there is no reason keep him.

What? There's your WR1 next year.

He might never play again but if I do pull the trigger on this 2 for 1 I will stash him since he can be on the IR all season and not cost me a roster spot

i like him too... i am just saying that the crowded talent is likely to result in garcon not having as good a year as last year... And i am not sold on garçon's talent compared to some others out there in better situations...

I would not do this deal.

Hopkins could be really special long term and Garcon's value will never be higher. He is a good player, but not worth the price you are paying.

Also, for what it is worth, RG3's game might actually fit better with DJax once they have time to work together.

Again, what kid of player is there after with all those keepers being gone?

The top rookies should go between rounds 3 and 5. I don't see how a 7th round pick could have that much value.

I already have too many WRs than I should keep. Not including my no brainer guys like Nelson and Cruz I have Patterson, Williams, Hopkins, Hunter and Rogers. I would think it makes sense to move one for more draft day ammo.

That is a good idea, but what kind of player will be there? You know your league, but if there are already 100 players listed as keepers, then a 7th round pick plays like a 17th. It is slim pickens by then. The players left would be low probability lottery tickets.

At some point, there will be a huge drop-off in talent. First when the players from last season's first 3 rounds are gone, and then second when the premier rookies have been taken. By the 5th I don't see how you are going to have much to choose from.

Unless my calculations are wrong, a 7th round pick has almost zero value and should not be factored into the equation as an asset.

If you are shooting for draft day ammo, make sure it is useful ammo.

This is only the league's second year of existence so I can't really speak to the players that will be there so it's a crapshoot.

I just have so many 2nd year WRs that I have no business keeping all of them. I already have to burn a spot stashing Blackmon.

Ok, this might sound backwards, but you might actually be better off releasing Hopkins to the player pool then trading him for a meaningless pick. At least then, you make somebody else use a 3rd or 4th round pick to get him. That way, there is one more quality player in the draft pool and it slightly enhances the quality of the player you get in round 4.

What you need to do is figure out who is being kept so that you know who is not available in the re-draft. How every many players are being kept (approximately) you can use it to find the true value of your pick. If you think 50 players will be kept league wide, then that means that by the time your 7th round pick comes up, those 50 keepers need to be added to the 65 or so prior picks to find the true value of the pick. That comes out to pick 115 overall.

That pick would have some value, but it is not your typical 7th rounder. if 100 players are being kept league wide, then the 7th rounder you return is really only pick 165.

What kind of asset would you give up for the 165th overall pick in a draft?

Most people don't think about how keepers completely deflate the value of their late round picks in leagues like this. You know know, however that picks outside the first 4 rounds are going to have very limited trade value. Use this to your advantage.

Instead of getting a worthless 7th round pick, see if you can trade your 4th or 5th for his 3rd. An unsuspecting owner might think this is better since he gets a pick back, but in reality it is much, much better for you.
