As it sits right now this is how my team will look:

QB: Newton
RBs: Ball, Jennings, Moreno, Frenchie
WRs: Nelson, Cruz, Patterson, T. Williams
TEs: Thomas
Def: Seattle

Our roster is 20 spots deep so that leaves me with 9 draft picks. I will have my first 3 rounds, in which I will take two RBs for sure. I also traded my 7th for someone else's 5th.

I was just offered an 8th for Bernard Pierce and he is a borderline keeper based on the likely Rice suspension.

BTW im in the 5th slot so im likely looking at a choice between Forte and Lacy in the first.

My question: Do I take a chance to get Jimmy Graham in the 2nd since we can play an additional TE at flex?

Starting lineup:QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, Flex, Def, K, 2 IDP

How many teams are in this league, because your team isn't that bad as it sits now. You have to go running back in the first round if you have the 5th pick and just hope that Graham is still there when you pick in the 2nd. If not, I would consider a top tier QB if there's any available since Cam has nobody to throw the damn ball to in Carolina. As for the Pierce trade, I would do it. With the depth of the other 4 running backs you have on your roster and drafting another one in the first round, you can afford to lose him. He wasn't that great last year even when Rice didn't play.

there are 12 teams in the league and I am definitely going RB in the first. Since we dont snake I think there is a good chance that Graham is there for me in the second...if not I might look at either a stud WR or QB.

I really like my team...I was extremely unlucky last year. I had both McCoy and Forte and missed the playoffs because I had the second most points scored on my and I scored the third most.

With Cam's running I still think he is a top 10 QB but his lack of weapons will bring him down a little this year.

Not sure if I trust benard pierce... Especially with forsett sounding like he will be the guy in the beginning... Pierce is injured right now, and with your RBs already+ the one or two you draft in the top 3 rounds, you will already have great depth... You don't need to waste a top 10 round pick on pierce!!! So the 8th round pick is more appealing to me!!!

As for The graham question, it depends on your reasoning to get graham... If you think he is better than Dez Bryant, AJ Green, and other elite WRs then take him... If you don't then you have no need for him... You already have Thomas!!!

Don't take him to ruin another team... TEs are deep this year!!!

Only 8 non-QBs outscored Graham last year, so of course you put him in your flex if you can. No second-round RB non-keeper is likely to be able to duplicate his production.

On the other hand, I don't understand why you dropped Forte, or how Lacy or Graham would be available, so there's something I'm missing.

If these are your starters:

QB: Newton
RB: Forte/Lacy
RB: Ball
WR: Nelson
WR: Cruz
TE: Thomas
Flex: Graham

That would look awfully good. Your weakness would kinda be WR1.

I didnt drop them. Any player selected in our draft last year in the first three rounds have to go back into the draft. I drafted McCoy and Forte 12th and 13th last year.

McCoy and Forte 12th and 13th last year.

Love it when the people you play with have no idea what they are doing!

I was shocked that I got both of those. I know there were concerns with Forte because of the new offense but I was huge on both him and McCoy and they both proved to be fantastic.

Your team looks awesome considering the talent you will be able to add on top!

I am confused with one thing though. How many keepers do you get? If you have an unlimited number, then I think I would rather keep Pierce than trade him. I can't imagine that there would be much talent left by the 8th round with so many keepers already gone.

The 8th could play more like the 18th if other teams are keeping 10 guys too. I can't imagine you would get a player anywhere near Pierce's ability with that spot. I would guess that the talent level drops substantially somewhere in the 4th.

As for Graham, I would absolutely draft him in the second if he is there, but since you already have Thomas you might be able to package him for an serious upgrade somewhere else. Playing Graham in a flex spot is fine, but he might be able to fetch an even better player in trade since someone else might pay more for him as a TE and you don't need him there.

Also, you don't have any needs, but the closest thing to weakness here is QB (Cam is NOT a weak option). I might consider a Rogers/Brees in the 2nd if given the opportunity.

If people keep at the round taken, I imagine rounds may go by with no picks at all, so there might be nice rookies available at round eight. Considering the bench depth a guy like Watkins or Bortles seems more valuable than a guy like Pierce, since I guess you could keep him forever.

yup - McCoy never made it out of the top 8 in any of my redrafts last year, but heard from some others that he fell in their drafts too. I think most drafts saw Forte go in rd 2 last year, doubt that happens this year.

We can keep as many as 13 players. Since our roster is 20 that leaves top 3 rounds then kicker, defense and two IDPs. I just happen to be keeping Seattle's defense. Graham wouldn't be able to be kept moving forward so I'm not moving Thomas

Right, I was suggesting to move Graham, not Thomas but now I see my wording was a little confusing.

Any chance you can get a player comparable to Pierce in round 8? I can't see how given all those keepers.

My thinking was a rookie. Pierce is going to be buried on my depth chart so taking a chance on a rookie seems appealing to me.

Also I'm close to acquiring Pierre Garçon and something for Moreno and Hopkins. Not a slam dunk that I accept but if I can roll out Nelson and Garçon with Cruz, Patterson and Williams on the bench I don't think I would be touched at WR. I also have Blackmon but at this point there is no reason keep him.

Garçon can be a possession guy too...I like him way more than DJax.

i like him too... i am just saying that the crowded talent is likely to result in garcon not having as good a year as last year... And i am not sold on garçon's talent compared to some others out there in better situations...

The guy wants Hopkins and Moreno for garçon plus a missing piece. I think that's a win for me

I dont think i would do it... But again, i am not that high on Garcon... and i see hopkins being one of the top sleeper picks this season... Not to mention, who trusts lamar miller???
