It begs an interesting point about the pre season poll. Maybe Wisconsin is really, really good , or not. Maybe LSU is really poor, or not. The preseason voters just hate to admit they are ever wrong so they end up make fools of themselves. Who knows Houston may not even jump Oklahoma, although I think they will.
Your ND example is a good one. About 12 or 13 years ago, SC had 1 loss seasons. One year they got into the Championship Game partly because of strength of schedule as ND was 9-3. Either the year before or the year after, they did not get into the Championship because partly based on strength of schedule when ND was either 4-8 or 3-9. In neither year did they schedule ND because they thought is was an easy win. Playing good teams must count for something. A few years ago , had ND not scheduled Florida State and lost on the last play of the game, but rather scheduled the College of Charleston (as Alabama did) and won by 40 points they might have been in the Championship. When records are equal, head to head must count. Next week Wisconsin will likely be 2-0 and LSU will be 1-1 and still ranked ahead of Wisconsin. In the unlikely event that both team ran the table it would be impossible of Wisconsin to pass LSU simply because of the preseason position.

They should get rid of the preseason poll. You just have no idea in college and it's incredibly unfair given how pollsters will only move teams up or down based on which other teams lose.

Watched that last quarter. Damn that was a hard last drive to watch for LSU. QB threw a bad ball after a nice escape from the pocket.

Looked like a good game overall, even if it wasn't supposed to be a good game.
