1-5 I think this is the best team in the league...on paper. They do not have a weak spot in their starting rotation. Their salary also indicates this, but that does not always mean that much. #Knicks

The questions are if they can gel together and how many minutes can Garnett/Pierce give. I think they will gel. They are all veterans. I think Pierce and Garnett will be very strong voices on this team for the much better.

Garnett is older but they have some depth to cover this up. Pierce should get more minutes but once again they have some depth. This might not be as effective in the playoffs when starters play more minutes.

Lopez is a bit of a finesse player, now with Garnett and Pierce there that will be covered up quite a bit.

I worry about their overall team strength standing up to star power in the playoffs.

What you are looking at right here is the roster that will win the 2013-14 NBA championship. They will beat Miami in the Conference Finals and defeat the Los Angeles Clippers in the NBA finals. Word.

Ultimately I like the Heat to bring in Anderson and go bigger. This makes the most sense and they should be able to have success this way.

5 Anderson edge Lopez but not a huge one
4 Bosh on Garnett, I like this a lot, lanky athletic Bosh on older Garnett who does not have a size advantage
3 Battier/Ud/Wade rotation on Pierce
2 Battier/Ud/Wade rotation on Johnson
1 LBJ on Williams for essentially the same thing they do to Rose, cut the head off the snake.

If they go small (normal for the Heat, which they will have to do because Anderson can not play a lot of minutes)

5 Bosh, I like him vs Lopez. he is more skilled and that will make up for a bigger Lopez who does not use his size as much as other 7 footers at 275.
4 UD/Battier Rotation on Garnett
3 LBJ and Pierce battling as always
2 Wade on Johnson
1 Rio/Cole rotation on Williams.

In the small lineup I think the PG spot is where it will break down for the Heat (and also why the Heat could look to move Rio down the road). Cole is a better on ball defender and can still hit a 3 ball. I really think Cole is the better top to bottom player over Rio.

I think on both sides of the ball it is better for the Heat when they go big...but Anderson is not good for 30 minutes a game.

I just do not think that the Nets have enough of an edge in those matchups to say they will win a 7 game series. The wild cards are health of Wade, Pierce and Garnett and how much time those 3 can contribute.
