And Hernandez is so clueless when they didn't give him a playoff assignment a few years back he sued the league. He lost and then appealed and lost again

It's mind boggling how bad Angel is and that MLB and the union and even all the other umpires haven't kicked his ass down the road a long time ago. He an embarrassment to everybody in the game and everybody knows it.

More MLB umpire incompetence. how could Heim possibly be called for a violation there? He was completely off to the side and the only part of the plate he was touching/covering was the middle of the plate with his foot.

I can’t say it is the worst call ever, because this the MLB we are talking about. But this certainly makes a highlight reel of bad calls. And it was even made by the replay booth, which really has zero excuse for getting it wrong.

Inexcusable.

That's why I said "no confirmation at this time". I didn't think that was an official source. It doesn't change the fact that he is among the worst umpires in the business. He should not be allowed to do anything but work 2B.

He SHOULD be fired. Few would argue that.

But using a parody account as “unconfirmed reports” is weaksauce.

If I recall correctly, he made a call at home against the Twins in Oakland when he wasn't even looking at the play. He also (again, if my memory serves) called a ball foul against the Twins in a playoff game where replays showed that it was clearly fair. The Twins had several runners on base and lost the game by 1 run.

This is fucking incredible. And Fletcher was like a bottom 15 ump all year. So why is he doing games?

The call on Julien was gross negligence. Gausman likely never survies the second inning withouth it.

MLB needs to take 1 ump out back and execute him. Send a message. Im sure they will start doing their jobs.

The call to Julien would have given Polanco a chance with the bases loaded and 2 out, rather than 2 on and 2 out. The other 2 calls that they called "impactful" were 1-0 and 0-0 counts. I thought the pitch that was called a ball to one of the Toronto hitters (clearly in the strike zone) was one of the worst calls of the day.
