Robo-umps are being used in the minor leagues this season. If they come into the majors, the home plate umpires will have to abide by the calls they make. Pitch framing will be a lost art.

I hear ya but I’m willing to make that trade. It should expand the strike zone in the end rewarding pitchers who can dot a corner with just a few millimeters of the ball.

I will too. I remember a game in which Alex Kirilloff was called out on strikes with the pitches missing the strike zone by at least 5" I believe it was in Dodger Stadium and the home team announcers said "They just made this game a lot tougher on a young player like him."

Yeah its a fine line because I do think pitch framing is a true talent. And umps with consistent zones that are a bit wider are not bad.

But the issue right now is becoming the fact that these home plate umps are not even close. As you mentioned the Dodgers game for AK. When the other teams announcers are talking about how bad it was, you are BAD.

Robo umps seems so dumb, but its getting to the point they are necessary. Umps are no longer calling "close pitches" wrong, its blatant pitches incorrectly.

Few games ago the mariners pitcher threw Solano a pitch right down the middle and completely in the box, not even on the line. ANd it was called a ball. It was a fastball......no movement even. Crazy.

Cheating will be removed from the game?

No they basically have no reprecussions.

And im not even talking termination. Like when they have an objectively bad game where there are repeateded missed calls. Nothing happens. They dont sit a week or anything. Just right back at it, every single time.
There are a lot of loser assholes that would cry to the courts and cry to the police if anyone actually punished an umpire.

Another Veteran ump just embarrassing the profession. The only thing good about this card is that he was consistently awful.

Never a good thing when you are 66% on called strikes but score an above average consistency rating.

Literally means you just fucking suck at your job.

How does Umpire Scorcards determine the true strike zone? Do they use the box on the TV broadcasts? While those are a good broadcast tool, they are not accurate. The CF camera is off center and it assumes that the zone is 2-dimensional (and I question how they determine where the pitch crossed that plane anyway).

Diaz had a less than stellar game, but it wasn't "Angel Hernandez" level of bad.

Its never ending with these umps. Julien had a strike called on him earlier in the AB too that was a ball.

Next hitter Polanco. Drew a 6 ball walk on 6 pitches.

We cant keep having guys just blatantly doing their jobs incorrectly. And the pitches are not close.
