My uneducated guess is ND, UW, Oregon and Stanford jump to the Big Ten within the next 6 months
I think the B1G will take two more from the pac12, someone from Texas (tcu=dallas market) and ND, if they can get them.

"During last year's round of realignment, when Oklahoma and Texas announced plans to join the SEC, the Irish held strong to independence but hinted at a few key caveats. The first is that Notre Dame needs a home for its non-football sports. Currently that's the ACC (additionally, Notre Dame currently has a deal with the ACC stating that, should the school join a conference full-time, it must be the ACC)"

I doubt the Big 12 considers TCU. ND, Stanford, UW and Oregon is the move for the Big Ten. Maybe Missouri or Kansas

Just got home from a nice One Year Anniversary in Gatlinburg. It was peaceful, and I made it a point to minimize any news, TV, and cell phone usage...

And then I come home to this horseshit! Expect an epic melt down if I don't cool off by the time I'm done reading this thread...

Clemson, FSU, and Miami will be SEC bound within the next 5 years, effectively killing the ACC

which teams get the last 8 spots?

I would think the B1G would like to expand footprint to Seattle area, Phoenix area, Houston area and then (1) more in east coast, Miami or Boston area maybe? All they are after are TV sets.

The rumors I heard today is that North Carolina, Duke, Oregon, Washington, and Colorado are all under consideration for a Big-10 move.

Already reported Oregon and Washington applied for BIG membership and decision could be coming tonight yet

This is soo sad. The PACs footprint was perfection. USC tearing out the heart of this conference and a century of west coast football history chasing a couple more million a year. Lowlife hooker move.

You have got to be kidding me! Enough! I'm done with college football if this happens. NCAA = NFL2.

PAC was such a great conference at not just football, but other sports, and was one of the best feeder programs for grooming Olympics talent in soo many sports at those games. The regional aspect of it was just marvelous. To watch what is probably the carnage of turning what's left into the PAC into a mid-major as I predict sadly that Oregon and Washington will probably soon bolt for the Big as well, but out of forced desperation, not because they want to become just another cog in the wheel of the BIGs broadcast deal.

So much of what made college football culture so enjoyable is being wrecked by letting a bunch of parasites at the broadcast networks run the NCAA now. So sad to see this. I guess it was inevitable that corporations like ESPN, FOX, and Nike would turn college athletics into a consolidation of the haves and the have nots.

I agree it's too bad about the conference, but IMO they had it coming having someone like Larry Scott in charge of the conference for a decade and not caring to remove him despite blunder after blunder.

Do the Pac and Big 12 attempt some sort of merger to make one last stand?

I agree. It's sad to see a historic conference like the PAC become a thing of the past. I'm sure Oregon (and the Huskies) are headed to the Big Ten soon but I'm pretty upset about it.
