And you were hoping for having your cake and eating it to with ice cream. Picking Jackie dropping him to take Camp in hopes 500 didn't take Jackie so you could get him later.

I hadn't picked a 40's player at that point, so your math was already off Bud...not the point of the argument anyway

True but you have a 2B so the odds of you taking Jackie as a bench player, well there would be no point in doing it but I hear ya. But in my defense I tried trading Jackie to 500 for his next pick...so I tried that counts something

Well 500 can back me up on trying to trade him for his next pick so essentially it worked out the same way but it's whatever

Jackie had value...put it this way, if Roberts weren't there, I would have taken Jackie...reason being, there wasn't another 40's HOFer with close to the value, and since I had an 1800's 2B at DH, I could have easily traded either Robinson or LaJoie since I had the greatest 2B ever already. Worst case, Jackie was a lefty platoon, but I still could have traded him for something else of value. The point is, when it hit's the board, he's your's till add drops

Yeah no doubt if 500 doesnt take him he is up for grabs. I guarantee if I wouldnt have taken him or tried trading him to 500 he still takes him. Next time I will just trade the player

Actually I will blame Plank bc there is NO reason his first year should have been when he was 26 years old. Most guys started their career when they were 20 or under back in those days. He still pitched till he was 41 but I guess he didnt become great until almost 30.
