LaRu will only pitch Hendriks in save situations - so it is hard for him to get into a groove. Oakland used him for multiple innings at a time and on consecutive days - Hendriks feeds off being used.

That's 4 straight games for the Sox of 9 or more runs.

What's amazing is that we're doing it without a ton of dingers. The Sox currently lead all of baseball with an avg of 5.47 runs per game, yet are only tied for 27th in HRs. In this day and age of the long ball dominating offenses, this makes for a fascinating contradiction in terms.

It’s especially refreshing to see this team manufacture runs considering how the Sox have relied on the long ball for years.

True. I’m still guessing it will be net fewer, but am certainly hopeful for Vaughn and Mercedes, in addition to others, to effectively step in.
