What a novel idea, tailoring to the strengths of the players that you have instead of forcing them into some rigid scheme.

Correct me if I'm wrong about this, but didn't we talk about them doing exactly that in a thread long ago?

Though I probably wasnt alone in calling for the hiring of an o-coord that puts players in the best position to make plays - i.e. tailors his “scheme” to the players, I certainly was one of the first.

But then again, according to the knobswallower, gekoka, I’m either dense, ignorant, or a troll, so what do I know.

No triggered but the definition of troll...troll is a person who starts quarrels or upsets people on the Internetto distract and sow discord by posting inflammatory and digressive, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community.

I guess you have proven which one you are. Oh and congratulations on supporting the hire of “a person who puts players in the best position to make plays.” I am sure nobody else would claim to do that.

This is a direct shot over the bow of Haskins. Obviously the new coaching staff has heard of or seen evidence that leads them to believe that Dwayne needs to ramp up his commitment to become an NFL QB. If we are here this time next year reading about the coaches concerns over dwayne's study habits, then Haskins will not be around for long.

The good news is there have been others that had their commitments questioned when they first came into the league, and they changed for the positive. Cam Newton comes to mind. Of course, there have been some that didn't (Manzel, J Russell).

look i have seen haskins break down film on video , i dont think that is an issue . i do think a 21 yr yr old man felt he was entitled to things and lacked maturity

Beyond that measuring"commitment" is subjective at best in that it doesn't take into account what's done, or not done, out of view of those making such judgements. How much or little studying any QB does can only be measured through recall tests and on field function. At present, I suspect that this as an issue that's not based on anything other than preconceived assumptions.

We have also seen Haskins starring off into who knows what while the OC and QB were reviewing the iPad. Or get lured away to take a selfie instead of being in the game and out there for the victory formation. I don't think that is damning but it does give pause.

Now to echo what Sty said we don't know what we don't know when no one is looking.

Haskins is likely our QB unless the staff wants to go in another direction. He and anyone else has been put on notice about what is expected of them. Something I think we all wanted ... accountability for every single player on the team.

I agree, what's troubling to me is the quick hook mentality that's still practiced with QB's. Haskins did stumble some at first, but since that time he's given a glimpse into what might be and a few quirks that likely resulted from being a 21 year old. That is all that we know about this guy at a professional level. Like you've stated, "he ain't Rosen!"
