So all those Mets fans who wanted to trade for hm this past off-season? THIS is why we didn't go after him.

Sucks for my beeeeeloved Jheys, tho.

@Bloody Brian Burke

DANNY! What the fuck do you make of this?!?!

I suppose the good news is that he played about 30 more games for Toronto before hitting the DL than I thought he would.

Last Friday I was seriously considering posting to say that I was happy for you that Tulo had stayed healthy for the Blue Jays. Oh, I wish I had.

I've been wondering where you were the past few days.

I'll just fully admit that I've been awaiting a Tulo injury, because of course at some point it's going to happen, and moreso because he's absolutely prone to it. But I've watched this play 20 times and still don't understand WTF happened. It's so weird.

Anyway, if he's back for the playoffs and in decent enough condition, this isn't so bad. He wasn't hitting great to begin with, and while the backups can't hit for shit they can field well (at least better than Reyes could) and the rest of the lineup should be able to pick up the slack.

At first glance, it looked like he hurt his back

But, a cracked shoulder blade?? Then he flopped like a scared goat afterwards

Just a freak injury. A fractured shoulder blade isn't that big of a deal, with respect to things like ligament tears or things like that. I doubt it ends up being some long-term thing that follows him around for his career or something.

In the meantime, have fun finishing the season with Darwin Barney. I like the guy even though he can't hit. He gets extra points for being a cool Hawaiian and not being Shane Victorino.

2 weeks recovery time for a broken bone sounds crazy to me.
