His ratings within his Republican base have remained quite high (in the high 80's) so that 90% approval rating isn't out of line. As for the 52% overall, it must be the Rasmussen poll which always trends higher for him than other polls.

Oh yeah I can see that approval rating with Republicans there isn't much dissension within the party. It would be the same if a Democrat was in office right now but he fails to realize that.
