The first guy, who identified himself, laid out his reasoning for adding to the art (if it's a "free wall" then he's absolutely entitled to add as he sees fit) and while some may not agree with his reasoning I see no issue with it.

The coward who came after can get fucked as far as I'm concerned.

They're both entitled (perfect word for a lot of these oil folks) to do whatever they want on the "free" wall. They both just come across as classless buffoons though. The second guy obviously more so though.

Maybe a more creative rebuttal mural would have been more constructive. Instead they both look like petulant idiots.

Does Jagmeet have a single QC seat there?

Considering all the time he spent there and how he cowardly avoided criticizing Bill 21 despite having even more obvious reasons than the other coward leaders did to do so it would be hilarious if the NDP get completely shut out there.

He needed to focus so much more of his time in Ontario and BC. A seat-by-seat count I saw earlier had all 11 seats in Mississauga and Brampton going red. Considering the ethnic makeup of Peel Region he basically should've been living there (again) all month. Didn't look like they made any headway turning red seats orange in the 416 proper, either.

I have a feeling our first black PM is going to keep his majority and that's incredibly disappointing.

Should also mention that projection gives the Liberals/NDP/Greens exactly 170 seats, which is interestingly enough exactly how many seats are needed for a majority in Parliament.

Just curious, where do americans go to vote on an election day? Some sort of Civic/federal building? Cant be schools right?

In my riding, one of the voting locations is my kids elementary school gym ... which is pretty common everywhere here.

I was there after lunch dropping off some dry clothes for my daughter (pouring here) and it was a complete traffic shitshow. So many random people in and out the front door of the school. This wouldnt even be considered/possible in the US correct?

Incorrect. At least in my area we usually go to schools. Usually the machines are in the gym so you cannot wander freely into that area.

My sister in laws daughter just started school in sept (brand new public school) in wash state and she describes it as 24/7 in lockdown mode

Actually I lived in three locations and all were different:

1. Voting in Schools
2. Voting at the local American Legion
3. Voting at the local rec center.

The only common theme was the elderly folks that volunteer.

I've seen similar. We use a lot of schools, but I also have voted at a public library and a community rec center. I know we also use a lot of churches and few more random things like the history museum, a country club or two, some public parks (those with event spaces), and even a Masonic temple.

Re: the questions about security, schools in Charlotte are closed on election day (well, teacher workday, so not closed per se) in presidential election years and are sometimes closed on election day in other years. When they're not closed, they do have increased security, usually from the PD and they make changes to the school schedule for the day. For example, a lot of them use the gymnasium as the polling location, so they lock the doors going from the gym into the rest of the school and students have something other than gym class that day.

Usually schools here, but my local place is actually a church. They used to do it at the fire station, but the area has grown and they needed a larger space. You can also do early voting at designated federal buildings, but they close those on election day.

And it's a school day off. I can't imagine the clusterfuck of having school in session during voting day.

No, just old people. But I am in an Upper Middle Class white people area. Apparently they used to get into trouble around here by posting police at inner city polling places to scare off certain folks. They slowed down on that once they realized those districts started getting a ton of absentee ballots.

I'm a permanent absentee here in CA and I usually sell my vote to the highest bidder (which is the American way, by the way - Capitalism or GTFO). I haven't really followed Canadian politics since Doug Ford although I hear his brother is doing just fine as premier.
