Supreme Court allows partisan gerrymandering to continue (5-4 decision)

Why would they change it? It's literally the only reason 4 of them are there.

It's probably time that more blue states start gerrymandering like hell. There's no point in being on the "right" side of this issue.

Wait a minute, are you saying that these judges are putting their own self-interests ahead of the country? C'mon man, have some faith in people.

It's interesting that two cases the court refused to hear were one from Maryland which was clearly drawn in favor of democrats and one from North Carolina which was clearly drawn in favor of republicans. I know this decision is a huge hit for voting rights but I kind of feel the court did well in deciding this was a state's issue to resolve. At least with the 17th amendment this only applies to representatives and not senators.

I remember reading somewhere that of the 10 "most gerrymandered congressional districts", 9 were actually Democrat. So it's not like they aren't guilty of the same shit.

In fairness, gerrymandering had no impact on this since the Senate confirms SCOTUS justices and this case only impacted Congressional district gerrymandering.

And clearly I have some skin in this game because I will continue to live in one of the most heavily gerrymandered districts in the US.

The problem though is that while some of the more egregious districts may be Democratic, the overall volume of gerrymandered districts is Republican.

And I've been very clear in my opinion on the whataboutism that happens when talking about gerrymandering: It's wrong when Democrats do it and it's wrong when Republicans do it. Full stop.

Because you won't get good data then, stupid. It's not hard to understand when you understand what the purpose of the Census is... which you clearly do not.

What a total fucking idiot 24/7. Wandering around spouting off his mouth. Anyone who voted for this guy is a fucking moron. Anyone who votes for him again is an unprincipled ****.

We had a company picnic today at some local beach park. The hours were 11 - 3. Guess what genius misunderstood the email and thought we were just supposed to go right to the picnic, not work beforehand? Me!
