There has literally never been a time where there weren't sitting CPC/Alliance/PC/Reform MP's who were anti-abortion and yet at no point since the modern CPC was born has abortion repeal been mentioned in the CPC platform.

Pro-life'ism has almost no widespread support in Canada and Andrew Scheer isn't a moron, he'd like to get elected PM and stay there a while. The idea that he'd actually re-open this debate is absurd.

Pretty nice self own by our finance minister - that $55 billion is the deficit he's run since he was handed a balanced budget 4 years ago lol

Well of course he won't mention it in his platform because as you said he wants to get elected. The point is that members of his party, those who support him and whom he supports, are taking steps (albeit small ones) to change the way women can make choices about their own reproductive system.

If he comes out and says that these actions do not reflect his values, or those of the CPC, I'll applaud him. Until then he is complicit.

Hes following the republican playbook from 2016. Keep the issue on the down low and dont address it until elected. Make the “middle” think that issue is no longer up for debate so he can get their vote. Scheer just has to make sure he doesnt Also let slip that he would think about punishing women who have abortions during his campaign.

There was a video clip out there of a reporter trying to get him to publically voice his position on abortion and he wouldnt do it which speaks volumes of his and his parties true intentions

I'm pretty sure he's been on the record as being anti-abortion rights but also said he won't re-open the debate.

Harper likewise had anti-abortion views that he never pursued once in office and made a statement like Scheer did yesterday that he won't re-open the abortion debate.

Trump was pretty vocal during the campaign about being anti-abortion and nominating SCOTUS justices from Heritage Foundation lists of judges, almost all of whom were likely to be anti-abortion.

Colorado is the first state to cap co-pays for insulin

Great news and lets hope other states follow. Anyone that has to deal with the cost around insulin will appreciate this.
Since its inception insulin really hasn't change but the prices skyrocket.

Just from 1996 to 2016 to rose 700% in cost.

Some of the costs for drugs are criminal. I must be naive because I just don't see how EVERY politician in the last 40 years allows this to happen.

Type 1 diabetes is one disease I really thought was on its way to eradication. A relative was diagnosed with it about 15 years ago and I read up like crazy on it, on research and trials being done at the time and I was convinced she wouldn't need insulin into adulthood.

The fact that its cost has risen so much makes it even more critical that they do everything they can find a way to reverse its effects.

Even more insane when you consider the person who discovered it didn't feel right profiting off something that would save lives. He felt it should be free to all who need it.

List of largest pharmaceutical companies by revenue - Wikipedia

Looking at the largest company alone... Spending just 10% of their revenue on bribes to ensure rules don't change is $8 billion a year. $15,000,000ish PER member of Congress (House and Senate). All in, the top ten made $472 billion last year.

By Comparison, Rob Portman here in Ohio got $32,000 from the DeVos family prior to voting for Betsy to be approved for Education Secretary.
