Why ask about Sanders? He will not ever be anywhere near the office of president.

Just goes to show that "who do you like" polls mean jack shit - Notley and Ford are political opposites but nationally they're both hated. May has to fight for 1 seat in Ottawa but she's equal to Scheer who has a legit shot at the PMO next fall.I think the poll asked about Sanders mainly for comparison purposes - Below is the chart:

Hillary is still up there in some too lol.
He's a buffoon, but Ontario needed his politics for a few years. Wynne/McGuinty mismanaged the finances here so bad and kept winning elections because their opponents were even worse than Ford every single fucking time (three times from 2007-2014). We have as much debt as EVERY OTHER PROVINCE COMBINED, half that of the federal government, more than any US state, and after 1 year of balanced books the Liberals plunged us right back into 8 figure deficits to try and buy an election.I like Rachel Notley, but I'm not a Ford fan.
If Biden or Bernie or Pocahontas win the nomination the Dems are doomed.I wouldn't be opposed to Biden, but he could be somewhat easy to run against. "Old, bumbling Joe". I'd prefer him somewhere like secretary of state.
The Democrats need to find new or newer blood. Some take no shit young leaders, and not talk show hosts, antagonistic lawyers or their own reality TV stars.. Stop looking backwards (meaning no John Kerry either). If they run Hillary again, I am leaving the country. It'll be beyond repair.
Same if they retake the house. No Pelosi. Time to move forward.
I am dreaming, I know.
I honestly don't know what the answer is in terms of good governance because my entire life all I've known are asshats.
People say the same about Bill Davis here.I was too young to recognize the greatness of Peter Lougheed, but nobody has come close to him as far as Alberta is concerned since.

I obviously wasn't around for Lougheed but this NDP government has been leaps and bounds better than any of the conservative governments I've seen in Alberta. Hasn't been a high bar to clear with the lazy fuckers the Cons became in Alberta. That's what happens when you have a bunch of mindless sheep who vote along party lines no matter what happens.

You're right that they need newer blood but I'm not sure they have it yet. Duckworth seems like a winner but she also may need some more polishing at the national level.
I think Kamala could get a lot of hype going though. Whip smart, doesn't take shit, legal genius, black woman. Seems to check every box.
Man, she was so visibly pissed at him when they met last month.Yeah, that's why I said earlier that I like Notley, she's trying to do what's best for Alberta and is not getting the support she needs from Junior (in my opinion).
I think the Democrats have a better chance with a left-leaning candidate than another Clinton/Biden centrist.Harris is the epitomy of a San Fransico liberal
Her time there as the DA offers up no shortage of red meat to throw back at her
She'd be as big or bigger of a mistake than the legion of doom you brought up
And I'm of the school they taking the George McGovern approach will lead to the same endI think the Democrats have a better chance with a left-leaning candidate than another Clinton/Biden centrist.
Trump, for all his faults, is an incumbent with a healthy economy. Those circumstances historically haven't produced losers in presidential races. The Democrats can't rely on centrism to get back the WH.
Democrats win when they energize their base. They need to realize that going after "swing votes" is a waste of resources - most Republicans aren't going anywhere near a Democratic candidate. And I'm of the school they taking the George McGovern approach will lead to the same end
How would a Harris type candidate play in a Youngstown type town/area
In the end, it was close races in rustbelt states that put the donald in the oval office.

The donald won by getting the white labor vote away from the dems. Running some quasi - socialist isn't going to win back that vote.
Dems won in the past by runnng southern white males
