Yeah, and somehow he went 3.1 innings throwing only 24 pitches and got 5 strikeouts.

I like the guy, have seen him and followed him at RR for a couple years. Pretty sure he had a real good spring and I hope he's successful when he gets his chances. Not sure he's an all star caliber catcher but I think he could be serviceable

The Texas Rangers are down a starting catcher less than a week into the season.

Robinson Chirinos broke his right forearm in the team's 4-1 victory against theLos Angeles Angels on Saturday night in Anaheim, California.

X-rays revealed the break for Chirinos, who reportedly will be placed on the 15-day disabled list and is out indefinitely.

"Obviously a blow to us, but this is the kind of thing that galvanizes this group. They pull together and play with a little more fever and passion," Rangers manager Jeff Banister said. "We knew Robby was hurting, but he wanted to give it a shot. But we knew it was a little more serious than what he and the trainer thought in the beginning."

Chirinos had a ball hit off his right arm, and he left the game in the bottom of the fifth inning. He was replaced by Bryan Holaday. The 31-year-old Chirinos was hitting .267 with one home run and two RBIs so far this season.

It was a bad injury day all around for Texas. Before the game, right fielder Shin-Soo Choo strained his right calf muscle while running on the wet outfield grass during batting practice. Ryan Rua started in his place and went 1-for-4.

Seeing that at bat by Robbie reminds me of my senior year of high school. I broke a bone in my hand and thought I'd just fight throw it. I caught a ball a few minutes later and almost passed out from the pain.
