I'll be quite disappointed if Slay doesn't win the starting job opposite of Houston. Can't lose out to a waiver wire pick up in Bartell wtf.

Bartell was a career starter before signing with Oakland and getting injured.

He's also a veteran with plus size and very good speed, so for now it may be just a case of them being more comfortable with the experienced guy.

Even if they open the season with Bartell as the starter it should still be looked at as Slay's job in the long run.

I'm willing to bet we open the season with Houston and Slay on the outside with Bentley in the nickel...
