There's no way I'd be willing to give up Kinsler + prospects for anybody. Bottom line is we're still the best team in our division without making any moves, and to give up a GG-caliber, 30-30 club 2nd baseman who can score over 100 runs, play well in October, plus top tier prospects leaves way too big of a hole to fill.

Keep it simple. Wilson for Andrus. TX needs pitching, esp relievers. We have a relative surplus of relievers, and need a SS. Give good, get good. Proven commodities.

I like it. Maybe even toss in Peguero, if necessary. Andrus might have been the only above average fielder the Rangers had during the World Series (though Napoli did better than I thought he would behind the plate and Cruz and Hamilton were playing injured).

As great of a defensive replacement as Brandon Crawford would be, I'd say he is available as "deal-clinching fodder," as well as Peguero. I hope I live to regret those words because I like his swing and patience. There is just something missing. Either way, great range, soft-hands and a fucking canon for an arm. A Giraffe, Healthy Franchez, Stamos and Fit Panda is a helluva defensive front. I'm wandering. Good trade idea, Mays Fan. So simple, it just might work.

Profar is still too far from taking Elvis's place and we're not desperate enough for relievers to make that trade. The only way I see that trade happening is if we sign somebody like Reyes to take over SS but even then I'd rather see Elvis in a package to get Shields. If I were yall I wouldn't be too excited over Andrus anyway. He's a 25-error guy who hits sub .280 with no power. Elvis apologists will say "he just needs more focus and he'll cut his errors in falf", well, you can say that about anybody. At best he's a guy who can make some awesome plays every now and then and steal some bases. He's still young so maybe he'll improve. I'm skeptical about him though.

and lets not forget when we traded for lee(a rental,,as cain might be just a rental) we gave
our number 2(a-),16(c+) prospects and then some decent 25/26 year olds(lueke,lawson)......
so i think a deal involving martin(b/b+)///murphy(starter for giants with a good bat)///moreland and a few arms not named perez in the(b to c+ range) would be a pretty good offer for cain...not all these players but a combo of these guys

i believe the rangers can come up with one of the best offers if SF wants to look at this possibility

I would contend that if you had Wilson available for Game 6, there wouldn't have been a game 7.

How much would that have been worth to you?

Maybe, maybe not. The fact is going into that series, our bullpen looked as good as any bullpen has ever looked. They also had lots of innings on their arms for the most part couldn't go past 5 innings. If Cruz makes that catch, this conversation doesn't happen. You can't say a sudden breakdown warrants trading possibly our best all around player PLUS prospects for another closer. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have Wilson and I think he's hilarious, but that's asking too much.

Wow...statements like this make me question how sharp of a baseball guy you are.... the Rangers bullpen is a shadow of what a team with a great bullpen...say, the Giants have...

Going into the WS the Rangers pen had an ERA of 1.54...take away Koji's(a guy who should've never been on the mound in the first place) 3 run showing in the ALDS(a game we still won), and the ERA is 0.77 over 35 innings, and after the trade for Adams the Rangers had a top 5 bullpen in the bigs in the regular season. Going into October, the pen was not a concern for any Texas fan, it was the SP, which proved to be the downfall, as nobody was able to pitch deep into a game except for Holland's gem in the WS.

Kinda how I feel about a perennial all-start RHP who would be your staff ace. I'd have to be overwhelmed to move him.

Dudes a 3.5 WAR player already and he's 22. I'll take him.

Props, dude, for coming in here and hanging. You are welcome anytime.

What movie is your avatar from? I'm guessing it's not from "Operation Dumbo Drop".

What about something like Ellsbury, Anthony Ranaudo, and Jose Iglesias for Lincecum? Then use the money saved to sign Darvish.

So true. I remember Teagarden in the College World Series. He looked like a can't-miss prospect. Do you recall his issue?

He just couldn't hit. Some think it was his eyesight, but he just looked lost at the plate. he tried glasses and contacts, neither helped.

Oh, Mays, you gotta watch "The Trailer Park Boys." Best Canadian export since Crown Royal.

Darn those wooden bats. Weird. It really looked like he had the talent that would transfer over. Thanks.
