1.07 and Victor Cruz

For

1.10, Percy Harvin and 7.10

I again am favoring the Cruz side of this deal. I dont want Lynch and hes staring at me at #7 so I am shopping him hard to maximize the value of that pick. Ideally I can either get a pick later in the first or early in the second and get another piece

Well, nobody's obliging you to take Lynch. If the guy you want might disappear between 7 and 10, you can stand pat. Unlikely that the end of the 7th in a keeper league is going to matter anywhere near as much.

Points-per-game I like Harvin much better than Cruz, but I understand the concern about how many games you get out of him.

These Harvin questions have made me move my rankings a bit.

I like Harvin better, but it sounds like a keeper, so are there any variables here, how many are kept, etc.?

sorry this is my dynasty league. Everyone except players drafted in the top 3 rounds can be kept. Cruz is my WR3 behind Nelson and Garcon and ahead of Patterson. IMO my options at #7 are Lynch or Graham. Obviously I like some of the WRs available at #7 but WR isnt a need. Im going either Forte or Lacy at #5, yes I have #5 and #7 this year.

This is really hard without knowing who the other players on your roster are and what players are available to be drafted. You said that Lacy will be available, does that mean that he was drafted in the first 3 rounds last year? What are your starting positions, it's going to make a difference whether you have a flex or not. The biggest problem is if you want running backs, Lynch will be there at 7 but probably not at 10, so would you rather have Ball, Bell, Bernard, or Foster with that pick or Lynch? I would much rather have Lynch than any of them.

Lacy was drafted in the 3rd round of my 10 team keeper last year, and we max out at 4 keepers.
I think a lot of people were on board early with Lacy becoming the RB1 for GB right from the get go last season, especially in any keeper/dynasty format

Take Graham at 5 then Lynch at 7 unless the Rb you want is there at 5 however Graham may be gone at 6

I'm scared to death of having Harvin, so I've gotta go with the Cruz side.

Take Cruz, until Harvin can prove that he can stay on the field he doesn't help you much. I've got to see the guy stay healthy for a full season before I can start thinking of him as a top WR; and it's multiple injuries along with migraines that have me wondering if he'll be able to put a full season together ever

MY team starts 1 QB, 2 RBs, 2 WRs, 1 TE, 1 RB/WR/TE, 1 K, 1 DEF and 2 IDP.

My team predraft:

QB-Newton
RB-Ball, Jennings, Frenchie
WR-Nelson, Garcon, Cruz, Patterson
TE-J. Thomas

I also have Ertz and Terrence Williams. I think I could be more than happy rolling with Nelson, Garcon, Cruz and Williams as my top 4 WRs, but its a risk for sure.

Lacy was drafted late in the second round last year so he cant be kept(12 team league)

since I pick 5th I will almost assuredly get either Forte or Lacy. 1st round likely going Charles, AP, McCoy, Forte and Lacy in any order for the top 5. The guy drafting in the 6 spot already has Bell and Stacy so I would bet good money that he goes Megatron at 6. So at 7 I think Lynch, Graham or another top WR will be there.

Okay so based on your roster, unless you draft a quarterback or a running back, you will be essentially filling the flex position. Since Nelson, Garcon, Cruz and J. Thomas are starters, even if you drafted Graham and move Thomas to flex, then you are still drafting the flex position. With that being the case, I would probably draft either Lacy or Forte at 5 and then if Manning is there at 7 I would pull the trigger on him. That would give you this as a starting lineup:

QB - Peyton Manning (362.4)
RB - Lacy (219.1) and Ball (206.7)
WR - Nelson (185.1) and Garcon (155.3)
TE - Julius Thomas (158.2)
Flex - Cruz (150.0)

Projected points = 1436.80

If you decide you want to go RB, RB, then it would look more like this:

QB - Cam Newton (294.3)
RB - Lacy (219.1) and Lynch (207.0)
WR - Nelson (185.1) and Garcon (155.3)
TE - Julius Thomas (158.2)
Flex - Ball (206.7)

Projected points = 1425.70

If you go RB, TE it would look like this:

QB - Cam Newton (294.3)
RB - Lacy (219.1) and Ball (206.7)
WR - Nelson (185.1) and Garcon (155.3)
TE - Jimmy Graham (195.4)
Flex - Julius Thomas (158.2)

Projected points = 1414.10

If you go WR, RB it would look like this:

QB - Cam Newton (294.3)
RB - Lynch (207.0) and Ball (206.7)
WR - Megatron (228.5) and Nelson (185.1)
TE - Julius Thomas (158.2)
Flex - Garcon (155.3)

Projected points = 1435.10

Now granted, these are the projected season points from fantasy pros website, but if you want, plug in your own numbers for what you project these guys at and do the math. It looks like no matter how you slice it, it's going to be close, so I would look at these four lineups and decide which one you like the best and go that route. Hope this helps.

What do guys think about me moving Cruz and rolling with Patterson and Williams as my 3rd and 4th WRs?

I think that's a smart move Trudem, and Williams will probably wind up being your #3 ahead of Patterson most weeks... (for now). Cruz is definitely your chess piece.

I wouldn't do that trade, but I like the idea of offering up Cruz since you have Williams and Patterson. Honestly I think you will use Rashad Jennings in your flex as much as your WR3 anyway, but no matter what I would stay put at 5 and 7.

I said it before when we were talking about this team and I'll say it again - I'd keep T Williams in a heartbeat. You'd be able to have an amazing WR group, and with a top RB as your pick at 5 you are pretty much set to start your season off already.
