That's a bunch of BS, not happening.
It could if he's asking for a trade or telling them he won't sign his contract is up. Oklahoma won't has always held the position that their players take less money no matter what in order to stay a team. That's a bunch of BS, not happening.
That's what I say - If they trade him, they can get something for him like they did for Harden. It also opens the field because they could easily ask the Lakers for example for their top 5 pick this summer. For the Lakers it would be an instant team that makes the Lakers contenders again. In addition Durant has seen injuries this season and they might be spooked. I say do it Thunder and give him to the Lakers for their first round draft pickI don't think its completely out of the question... if there's a fear of losing him to FA. The Thunder could get much more back if they trade him at the deadline vs doing a sign and trade in the offseason.
I think it would also require the Thunder to be playing bad at the trade deadline though. If they are all healthy next year (and they are due for a year of health)... I imagine they'll be playing at a high level and winning a lot of games. No way do they trade him if they're having a great year.
But, IF they badly underperform next season and it starts to look like Durant will walk... I could see it happening. Those are pretty big IFs though.
OkC will pay Max money fit Durant and Westbrook and anyone thinking a trade is coming is just wishing. It could if he's asking for a trade or telling them he won't sign his contract is up. I've seen stranger things happen man - No one is safe from the trade issue if things go sour enough. It's not about max money alone, but it's about if KD still believes in Oklahoma to build a championship team. I would arge they don't believe they will but I believe they could if they desired. So far they have allowed players critical to winning their first championship go because they have adhered to a budget. I have my doubts about them leaving that plan nowOkC will pay Max money fit Durant and Westbrook and anyone thinking a trade is coming is just wishing.
