Give him the number of Panda's dietician....we only need him for 2 months and maybe the playoffs.
Perhaps we could give one of the Richmond SPs a shot - Blach, Crick, Snodgrass.

Grantland on perfect fit trades:

Zobrist to the Giants is among them

So is Nick Franklin to the A's but he'd work in SF too...

Perfect MLB Trade Fits: Player/Team Pairings That Would Be As Satisfying As a Pumpkin in a Fruit Basket «

They also bring up Prado as a good fit for the Giants, if they can get him from a division rival.

Would you guys do Crick/Hector Sanchez for Zobrist?
How about Crick/Susac?

No to both. I MAY do Crick, one-up, but no way am I throwing in Hactor or Susac as well.

I guess it'd be a bad choice to deal Hactor in the middle of a pennant race and expect a rookie to fill in (when our team uses the backup catcher a lot), but as a talent decision? I wouldn't miss Hacktor, esp with Susac coming up.

They just mentioned the Giants interest in Colon on the Mets pregame. Anything realistic to offer in terms of SS or an OF bat?

Sure, I think we could deal Gregor Blanco for him.

We are actually somewhat deep at young SS. Adrianza is good, just not quite ready, but doesn't have any options, so he is stock on our big roster. I would be happy with Adrianza for him, but not sure you guys would take that deal. Prob is, I am not that excited about Colon. He is paid too much next year and he has the Roid stink on him, which the Giants try to avoid.

As for OF, really the only thing we got is Brown, but I am not sure he has any trade value anymore.

Joe Panik, Ehire Adrianza are probably our most attractive middle infield help. OF is kinda a crapshoot. Our top OF prospect is down with TJ recovery. Our other guy, Gary Brown, has little trade value at this point.

Apparently there is interest in Colon, but I would be surprised if the interest was actually for Jonathan Niese. Are the Mets trying to trade him?

Zobrist may be out of the picture, as could Price. The Rays are killing it lately, and are playing themselves back into the race in a now weak division.

Peavy might be available. He pitched for Bochy early in his career.

You could get him for a bag of balls, look at his 2014 stats and contract.

I haven't heard anything about Niese being shopped or being off limits. I'd personally prefer to keep him since he's a lefty.

I'm wondering if the Mets would have to eat some of Colon's salary if they plan on trading him.

Naturally, Colon has a perfect game going through 6 innings. Pretty great audition.

Sounds like the Rays are asking for Crick, Susac + for Zobrist. For Price, the discussion starts at Crick and Susac.

I would do that deal for either one, preferably for Zobrist.

I really like Zobrist but I'm not giving up Crick, Susac, + for him.

He gives us very good versatility, nice OPB and can hit in the 2-hole and start at 2B

But we are still talking about a .265 hitter, single digit HR's, won't crack 15 SB's

He is 33 and we have him for 1 1/2 seasons.

I'll keep Crick and Susac, + over that

Understood, but Crick and Susac won't do anything to win a World Series this year or next. Zobrist likely will, doing things well (2b, OF) that we need right now.
