I would LOVE to get Upton, but Chez and Pill are not going to get it done. Tampa will have much better offers than that. If SF wants a legit shot at Upton, they will need to include a better player. My guess is that at the very least, it would take Sanchez and Adrianza or Sanchez and Peguero. Even then, I still think another team will offer a better prospect.

If that's enough to get the trade done I'd be all for it.

Your lineup might need tweaking (I might want Panda batting 3rd, Posey 4)...also the 5-8 slots are all lefties, but not sure how else you could bat them.

No problem. The Giants are buying up all of the decent left-handed relievers. ;)

Also, we know Boch loves to play with the line-up based on the starting pitcher match-up. Crawford will likely only get 4 games a week even if he isn't struggling. I don't want to think about Belt's reps right now. That's a ST worry.

I'd love to get Upton for the CF and the leadoff position. I also think that we have a few big question marks. IMHO both Belt and Craw are yet to be proven. I'd like to give Belt a full year without yanking him in and out of the lineup. I'm just afraid that if he stays around the .225 mark to long we'll never get a full season look at him. I just don't think Craw will ever develop into that good of a hitter. I'd take a .240 and be happy because his glove is like gold. I think the key to Craw will actually he Huff. I think Craw will continue to start as long has Huff carries some of our offense. As strange as it sounds I feel that if Huff struggles again they will leave him in and pull Craw instead.

Not happening. At least not at first. He'll get probably until the ASB to see what he's got to offer.

Exactly. Unrealistic. Huff is going to get 300 PA to show he's an "even year" player.

Here's my 2 cents. I love the BJ trade, I've been for him for awhile. He would fit nicely in between all the lefties we have down in the lineup. If we trade for BJ, I say also sign Rafael Furcal (or if you can pull one out a hat, J-Roll).

Furcal/Rollins-SS
Sanchez-2B
Posey-C
Sandoval-3B
Huff-1B
Upton-CF
Belt-LF
Schierholtz-RF

Even Grady if not Furcal, stick him in LF lead him off

Props for coming pretty darn close, in retrospect. Chez and a prospect for a decent outfielder. Well done, counselor.

I respectfully question your use of the word decent, but acknowledge that tzill did get the idea. I only WISH the Giants were able to land Upton. That guy is legit. Melky is a 4th outfielder.
