So I pulled off a trade today that I think may be a bit lopsided but it's definitely gonna set me up well. I traded Jay Cutler and Ben Tate (both on my bench) for Ray Rice and Cam Newton. My buddy loves Cutler and since Rice was hurt he wants someone he can start and get something out of. My RBs are Charles, Bush and Gio and now Rice. I'm trying to pull off one more trade with a buddy who love Edelman and Antonio Brown so I can get Trent Richardson. I'm then hoping to trade 2 of those 5 studs for a star WR (my top 2 if those trades go through are Antonio Brown and Cecil Shorts). After the dust settles, I should be left with:

Jamaal Charles
Reggie Bush
Trent Richardson
Ray Rice
Gio Bernard

How/who should I go after in terms of WRs? What do you guys think those guys' values are?

Dude you killed that trade. I'm envious of everyone's teams on this board. You all are stacked. I traded MJD straight up for Andre Johnson so I'm starting Doug Martin and David friggin Wilson this week.

If I were you, you've got the ammo...find a RB depleted team like mine and get a stud WR. Even better if a guy is coming off of a bad week. I'd say now is a good time to buy Fitzgerald if you can get him...but you've got some nice pieces to work with.

No kidding. For your next move I suggest picking Forsett off waivers and trading him for Dez.

Rice = 1st round, every league
Cam = rounds 1 - 6, depending on the type of league
Cutler = 8 - FA, depending on type of league
Tate = 9 - 12, every league

Only leagues that I see Cam going in the first couple rounds or cutler going before the 12th round are 2QB leagues. Not just 'a bit lopsided', your buddy just had his team gutted, and pretty much handed you a top seed for the playoff run. Nice job, I think?

He actually asked me if I wanted him to throw in anything else since Rice was hurt currently. I said no, I didn't want to push it. Not thinking the T-Rich trade is gonna go through because his next best RB is Stevan Ridley. This is gonna leave me with the following trade chips at RB/WR -

Jamaal Charles
Ray Rice
Reggie Bush
Gio Bernard
Cecil Shorts
Antonio Brown
Julian Edelman
TY Hilton

Ideally, I wanna go after Julio. My best friend took him in the 2nd, much to my suggestion as I picked right after him and wanted Reggie Bush. Fortunately enough for me, his RB situation is dire. He's starting Bilal Powell and has Montee Ball and Mark Ingram on his bench to go with Lesean McCoy. There are two routes I could go with him - blockbuster trade for Julio with me giving up probably 3 guys, or do a 1-for-1 and get Josh Gordon, whom he also has. Thoughts?

I'm surprised I don't see this trade in a thread for "do you think I should veto?". Absolutely gross.

Kinda my thoughts as well. Embarrassing that this even made it through. . the league should be ashamed.

The deal for T-Rich didn't go through, so I still have the same ones as before - Shorts, A. Brown, Hilton, M. Brown and Edelman

Completely capitalistic league, no voting down trades. The rule is, if it's obvious that someone is trying to stack the deck if they're tanking to help someone who is in contention (like, if I had sent Mark Sanchez and Delone Carter for Rice and Cam), they're kicked out of the league. This is a borderline trade in that regard, but it was offered to me without any kind of regard to either team tanking. He just really, really loves Cutler.

I wasn't implying you were in cahoots with him, I'm just saying it's a really awful deal on his part and if he loves Cutler so much, why didn't he draft him instead of Cam? And to get rid of Rice for Tate makes no sense, because I'm sure you would have accepted Cam for Cut straight up.

just sayin' .... but kudos to you I guess.

... and Rice is practicing this week, and will probably go for 200 against my Bills! lol

I'm glad I'm not in this league, because I'd be pretty sour here. The only way this becomes close to respectable is if Foster goes down for an extended period.

He doesn't know how to negotiate. It would have taken far less to pull cutler I'm sure.

No way I'd of accepted that. Cam is WAY too hit-or-miss for me, while I think Cutler is gonna continue to play better as the seaon goes on under Trestman. I love that offense.

I saw Rice is practicing and they're expecting him to play. I'm still wondering how healthy he is (they say it's not a big injury). I'd almost rather them not play him at all this week and let him get fully healed.

well, you said Cutler was on your bench, so Cam's "hit or miss" (top 5 both years) is better to own, and he would have better trade value for the WR you're looking for... but hey, you don't need any help in the trade market I guess! :)

wow... I just read it again, to see if it was real. I'd love to hear an explanation of how Cutler is more consistent than Newton. ...wait, maybe I don't, this could get long and repetitive (i.e. DMC/MJD/CJK)

Both are bad QBs. From a fantasy perspective I don't think they're too far apart. Both are inconsistent but can put up points.

From a RL perspective neither are even considerations as a starter.

Nope, it won't. I concede. I guess I am biased towards Cutler because of this offense, but you're right.

It's not crazy to think Cutler will outplay Cam; Cam's only advantages over Cutler, really, are his legs (which haven't been used much) and his line, which is probably still better. Cutler has better skill players around him. Both are playing under new offensive schemes, and so far that seems to be favoring Cutler.

The problem is Tate versus Rice. Maybe the other guy is betting Foster stays gimpy and Pierce takes more of the load, making it a wash. But that's a bad bet.

Oh, and Cutler gets hurt. There's that.

from a Wins/Losses stand point yeah, but not fantasy...

Cutler: 20, 23, 13
Newton: 14, 20, 34
