Olave owner is looking to move him, I offered a future 2nd and he countered asking for a future 1st

weighing the options of just keeping my 1st and using it on a WR Compared to acquiring Olave.

I've moved some assets around already to build up WR depth but would be nice to have one more 'set it and forget it' guy vs making tough flex choices weekly.

My current roster + draft capital:
- Cousins, Jameis, Dak
- JTaylor, Achane, Ford, Spears
- Puka, Ridley, Ladd, Mooney, QJ, Tillman, Thielen, McMillian, Lazard, Hollywood
- Goedert, Chig, Sinnott, All

2025: 1st, 1st, 3rd
2026: 1st, 4th
2027: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th

Had to overpay a little (my '26 2nd) for Winston, couldn't get Herbert owner to sell for a '25 1st and no one else really had QB to spare. But this week is a key matchup where I can significantly increase my odds of a division title with a W here

I think I would hold in this case. I did trade a 2nd (that is likely the 2.01) for Olave, but I also had two firsts to fill other needs.

I continue to bounce back and forth on which I'd prefer

A couple points to consider in response to your post:

I also have 2 '25 firsts and what should be 3.02 or 3.03 from a team that's rebuilding. Firsts will be late tho.

Your 2.01 is the same as my 1.13...so if my team is good enough to make it to the semi finals next year after adding 2 firsts and Olave, it's the same pick value-wise

When he asked for a future first, that wasn't for 2025?

Any interest in your '26 1st for an RB that can help this season (especially Week 14)?

I think you need to focus on your priorities. Sounds like you are in a decent position to make a run this year, so the question should be how much will Olave help you win this year? I feel like you could dangle around the same package and get a WR that would be more helpful this year to you.

Or, as has been mentioned... a RB, which you probably need more.

RBs have historically been more difficult to trade for in this league, but worth a look.

Olave has had two concussions in the last few weeks and has four in two years. Yeah, his stats look good, but the risk of the next concussion ending his career is too much for a first round pick.
He had two in college also.

Five in four years.

There is a chance his career is already over tbh.
