Seriously no team was taking Jarry, so they didn't need to trade up.
And if the Penguins kept that 3rd round pick they could have drafted Guentzel and him in that round.

EDIT: that 3rd round put together some decent current players!

Look, TB knows Gourde and Bjork will likely slot in nicely on the second line but that is an outrageous outlay for middle six depth and if that’s going to be what the cost is for some of these pieces I’m fine just going into the playoffs with what the Leafs got.

I’m not sure I would’ve given a first for either player straight up let alone one for each and a second. The last guys TB did stuff like this for are Nick Paul (on the third line in TB) and Tanner Jeannot (lol). Why do they keep doing this?
